Which transformation are needed to change the parent cosine function to y=3cos(10(x-pi))
BlackZzzverrR [31]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

First, we can transform y = cos(x) to y = 3*cos(x) by stretching the graph vertically by a factor of 3. At x = 0, the y value would now be 3 * 1 = 3 instead of 1 (the stretching would cause all new y-values to be 3 times their original values for any given x).

Now transforming y = 3*cos(x) to y = 3*cos(10*x) will stretch the graph horizontally by a factor of 10 (for any given y value, the new x value corresponding to it is 10 times the original x value).

Finally, to transform y = 3*cos(10*x) to y = 3*cos(10(x-pi)), shift the graph to the right by pi.

Suppose the dimensions of a rectangle with a perimeter of 18 inches are quadrupled. Find the perimeter of the new rectangle in i
oee [108]

The new perimeter of the rectangle if the dimensions are quadrupled would be 72 inches.

What are the side lengths of the first triangle?

The perimeter is always obtained by adding all the sides. This means the possible side lengths of the original rectangle are:

  • 5 inches + 5 inches + 4 inches + 4 inches

What are the side lengths of the new triangle?

5 inches x 4 = 20 inches

4 iches x 4 = 16 inches

What is the new perimeter?

20 + 20 + 16 +16= =72 inches

Anybody know the answer?
makvit [3.9K]

The first thing we need to do is take in all this information. We already know that the answer is between 0 and 7 because Line Segment AC is equal to 7. Second of all, it is recommended to solve this problem on paper to make it easier. You write the measurement under each individual Line Segment. Now we have to try to find a way how to subtract the Line Segments in order to get the measurement of Line Segment BC. If we were to write an equation. We would get mAB + mBC + mCD + mDE = mAE . We now try to think about the values that they give us to try to simplify it as much as possible. That's all that I can give you. I am sorry. This is a pretty tough and evil question.

Solve the equation by finding the linear factors and the zeros of x^2-14x+13=0
Blizzard [7]

Answer:

x= -13

Step-by-step explanation:

Step-1 : Multiply the coefficient of the first term by the constant 1 • 13 = 13

Step-2 : Find two factors of 13 whose sum equals the coefficient of the middle term, which is 14 .

     -13 + -1 = -14

     -1 + -13 = -14

     1 + 13 = 14 That's it

Step-3 : Rewrite the polynomial splitting the middle term using the two factors found in step 2 above, 1 and 13

                    x2 + 1x + 13x + 13

Step-4 : Add up the first 2 terms, pulling out like factors :

                   x • (x+1)

Add up the last 2 terms, pulling out common factors :

                   13 • (x+1)

Step-5 : Add up the four terms of step 4 :

                   (x+13) • (x+1)

            Which is the desired factorization
