Do 7 times 0.08.  You should get 0.56. That's the tax

Multiply 7 by 0.08 and you get $0.56. $0.56 is the tax. For other tax questions just multiply the price and the sales tax as the decimal.

The volume of a sphere is 972π cubic millimeters. What is the circumference of the great circle of the sphere? (Recall that the
Mashcka [7]
\boxed{\boxed{\text {Volume =} \dfrac{4}{3}  \pi r^3}}

Given that the volume is 972π mm³, find radius:

972\pi = \dfrac{4}{3}  \pi r^3

r^3 = 972\pi  \div \dfrac{4}{3}  \pi

r^3 = 729

r =  \sqrt[3]{729}

r = 9 \text{ mm}

Find Circumference:

\boxed { \boxed {\text{Circumference = }2 \pi r}}

\text{Circumference = }2 \pi (9)

\text{Circumference = }18 \pi \text{ mm}

Find two consecutive numbers whose sum is 115
melamori03 [73]
Let the first consecutive number be n then,

n + (n+1) = 115, since they are consecutive, n+1 is the next number.
2n+1=115 \Rightarrow 2n = 114 \Rightarrow n=57

Hence the two consecutive numbers that sum to 115 are 57 and 58.

Find an equation for the circle that has center (−3, 4) and passes through the point (4, −2).
dsp73
First use the coordinate of the center to start building your equation. The equation of a circle recall is
{(x - h)}^{2}  +  {(y - k)}^{2}  =  {r}^{2}
With the center point being (h,k).

Once you put in the centers coordinates, your equation should be,
{(x + 3)}^{2}  +  {(y - 4)}^{2}  =  {r}^{2}
However we still need to find the radius. We can do this using the second point given, by putting it into the equation and solving for the radius.
{( 4 + 3)}^{2}  +  {( - 2 - 4)}^{2}  =  {r}^{2}
Solving this gives us the final part of the equation.
85 =  {r}^{2}
And we can finally put our full equation together,
{(x + 3)}^{2}  +  {(y - 4)}^{2}  = 85
