Consider the infinite sequence an=1,2,6,24,120... What function defines this sequence recursively?

Mathematics

zepelin [54]3 years ago
6 0

As the sequence progresses it multiplies by the next number so

1 times 2 = 2

2 times 3= 6

6 times 4= 24

24 times 5= 120

and if you wanted to continue forward

120 times 6= 720

take this how you would like and rewrite it in your own words.

Solve the systems by elimination:

8x-2y= -10
-4x+y= 5
Pachacha [2.7K]

Let's eliminate x. To achieve this, mult. the 2nd equation by 2, obtaining

-8x + 2y = 10. Now add this result to the first equation:

8x-2y= -10

-8x + 2y = 10

---------------------

        0

The two equations actually represent the same line. Without an x- or a y-value, we cannot solve for the value of the other variable. There are infinitely many solutions.

An amusement park sells adult tickets and children’s tickets, with adults tickets costing $5 and children’s tickets costing $3.
Katarina [22]

Answer:

Nine

Step-by-step explanation:

3 dollars for children tickets : x

5 dollars for adult tickets: y

Equation is:

3x+5y=57

Where 57 is the total amount spent

x+y=15

where 15 is the total number of tickets bought

3x+5y=57

5(x+y)=5(15)

___________________

3x+5y=57

5x+5y=75

minus the equations top to bottom=

-2x= -18

x= -18/(-2)

x=9

He bought a total of 9 children tickets

On a coordinate plane, shapes show the size of swings, a slide, a merry-go-round, and a sandbox. The sandbox has points (0, 6),
prisoha [69]

The number of feet of wood that is needed is given as 35 feet of wood.

How to solve for the wood

We have to do this through the use of pythagoras theorem

a² = b² + c²

8² + 6²

a = √100

= 10

4² + 6²

= 52

a = √52

Then we would have

10 + 10 + √52 + √52

= 34.42

This is approximately 35 feet

The feet of wood that is needed is given as 35 feet
