The proteins necessary for life are assembled by the ribosomes of cells. These proteins include enzymes, which are proteins that

can reduce the activation energy needed for certain chemical reactions. One very important role that enzymes play in eukaryotic cells is to allow energy production to occur by catalyzing the chemical reactions involved in cellular respiration. Suppose an enzyme that is involved in cellular respiration is assembled by a ribosome. Where will this enzyme need to be transported in order to perform its function?

Answer:

Mitochondria

Explanation:

Cellular respiration is the process by which cells obtain CHEMICAL ENERGY (in form of ATP) by the consumption of oxygen and the release of carbon dioxide.

Ribosomes are small organelles found in all cells; involved in the production of PROTEINS by translating messenger RNA.

A mitochondria is a spherical or ovoid organelle found in the cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells, contains genetic material separate from that of the host; it is responsible for the conversion of food to usable energy in the form of ATP.

From the definitions provided, you can understand that the enzyme will be transported to the mitochondria of cells like muscles and liver etc, where cellular respiration occur.

Which diagnostic test is used for the direct visualization of ligaments, menisci, and articular surfaces of joints?
Sati [7]

Arthroscopy is done for direct visualization of the ligaments, menisci, and articular surfaces of the joints. Thus, option A is correct.

What is the role of ligament?

Ligaments are type of connective tissue which help to connect bones, joints and organs. It provide support internal parts of the body.

It is made of a band of connective tissue, collagenous fibre and spindle-shaped fibrocytes which is an elastic fibers.

Ligaments holds bones together, stabilize it, provide strength to joints etc.

By the use of Arthroscopy doctors can diagnose and treat the joint’s structural problems like any dysfunction. Hence, Option A is correct.

20 POINTS!!!! PLEASE ANSWER, QUICK!!!
Nataliya [291]

The specific action of an enzyme with a single substrate can be explained using a Lock and Key analogy first postulated in 1894 by Emil Fischer. In this analogy, the lock is the enzyme and the key is the substrate. Only the correctly sized key (substrate) fits into the key hole (active site) of the lock (enzyme).

Smaller keys, larger keys, or incorrectly positioned teeth on keys (incorrectly shaped or sized substrate molecules) do not fit into the lock (enzyme). Only the correctly shaped key opens a particular lock. This is illustrated in graphic on the left.

Hope this helps
