What is the relationship between the electric field strength at a point and its distances from the source charge?
diamong [38]

Explanation:

The intensity of electric field from a certain point that is assumed is proportional inversely to the square of distance’s magnitude from source. As one can see the electric field intensity is proportional inversely. Then the increase in magnitude of the space between source charge the electric field intensity decreases.

Since the proportionality is to square of distance, hence change or increase in distance is squared and that many times intensity of electric field decreases. So relation between them is inverse proportionality.

How does convection occur in the troposhere
adell [148]

Answer:The surface heated air expands as it warms, becomes less dense than surrounding cooler air and rises as buoyant and turbulent bubbles. This is convection and is the main process by which the troposphere mixes and heats. Although convection stirs and mixes the troposphere, the higher it is the colder it becomes.

Potassium nitrate has a lattice energy of -163.8 kcal/mol and a heat of hydration of -155.5 kcal/mol.
Brut [27]

Answer:

293.99 g

OR

0.293 Kg

Explanation:

Given data:

Lattice energy of Potassium nitrate (KNO3) = -163.8 kcal/mol

Heat of hydration of KNO3 = -155.5 kcal/mol

Heat to absorb by KNO3 = 101kJ

To find:

Mass of KNO3 to dissolve in water = ?

Solution:

Heat of solution = Hydration energy - Lattice energy

                           = -155.5 -(-163.8)

                           = 8.3 kcal/mol

We already know,

1 kcal/mol = 4.184 kJ/mole

Therefore,

= 4.184 kJ/mol x 8.3 kcal/mol

= 34.73 kJ/mol

Now, 34.73 kJ of heat is absorbed when 1 mole of KNO3 is dissolved in water.

For 101 kJ of heat would be

= 101/34.73

= 2.908 moles of KNO3

Molar mass of KNO3 = 101.1 g/mole

Mass of KNO3 = Molar mass x moles

                         = 101.1 g/mole x 2.908

                         = 293.99 g

                         = 0.293 kg

293.99 g potassium nitrate has to dissolve in water to absorb 101 kJ of heat.

Acetylene (C2H2), an important fuel in welding, is produced in the laboratory when calcium carbide (CaC2) reacts with water: CaC
Anastaziya [24]

Answer:

There are 1.287 grams of acetylene collected

Explanation:

Total gas pressure = 909 mmHg

Vapor pressure of water = 20.7 mmHg

Pressure of acetylene = 909 mmHg - 20.7 mmHg = 888.3 mmHg

1mmHg = 1 torr

22 ° C + 273.15 = 295.15 Kelvin

Ideal gas law ⇒ pV = nRT

⇒ with p = pressure of the gas in atm

⇒ with V = volume of the gas in L

⇒ with n = amount of substance of gas ( in moles)

⇒ with R = gas constant, equal to the product of the Boltzmann constant and the Avogadro constant (62.36 L * Torr *K^−1 *mol^−1)

⇒ with T = absolute temperature of the gas (in Kelvin)

888.3 torr * 1.024 L = n * 62.36 L * Torr *K^−1 *mol^−1 * 295.15 K

n = 0.04942 moles of C2H2

Mass of C2H2 = 0.04942 moles x 26.04 g/mole = 1.287 g

There are 1.287 grams of acetylene collected
