Schrödinger discovered the wave equation of electron. Electrons show wave particle duality.  Electrons exist as electron cloud in three dimensional space. Therefore it is difficult to state the precise position of an electron. There is a probability that electrons can be in one place at a time and an equal probability that an electron can be at another place at another time. This is based on Schrödinger thought experiment of a cat in a box.
