Answer:

64/3 tablespoons of sugar for 32 ounces of water

Step-by-step explanation:

In these kinds of questions it is nice to find how muc of 1 thing there is for every ONE of another.  so 8 tablespoons of sugar for 12 ouncesof water you can divide both sides by 8 or 12.

Dividing it by 8 gets 8/8 = 1 tablespoon of sugar for 12/8 = 1.5 ounces of water.

Dividing by 12 gets 8/12 = 2/3 tablespoon of sugar for 12/12 = 1 ounce of water.

Now you can take one or the other and multiply it to fit whichever you want to fit a ratio.

It asks what happens if you use 32 ounces of water, so lets use the ratio where we hae 1 ounce, then multiply everything by 32.

2/3 tablespoon of sugar for 1 ounce of water

Multiply by 32 and you get 32*(2/3) = 64/3 tablespoons of sugar for 32 ounces of water

Thepotemich [5.8K]
There are 16 pink jelly beans.
There are 16+34+24+26=100 jelly beans in total.

P=\frac{16}{100}=16\% = \frac{4 \times 4}{25 \times 4}=\frac{4}{25}

The probability is 4/25, or 16%.

Nancy has a freshwater aquarium at home. She buys goldfish four more than twice the number of platies she bought last Sunday. Sh
Rama09 [41]

Answer:

16

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's assume that Nancy bought 'p' numbers of platies. The question says, she buys goldfish, 4 more than twice the number of platies.

So, 4 more than twice of 'p' can be written as,

2p+4 that is the number of goldfish she bought. Let 'g' represent the number of goldfish. So we have,

g=2p+4

She also buys 2 black mollies and a few guppies that amounted to one quarter of the total number of goldfish she bought. Let 'x' represent the number of guppies, so we have,

x= \frac{1}{4} (2p+4)

Altogether she has 35 fish, so the sum of all the fishes should be 35,

p+ (2p+4)+2+\frac{1}{4} (2p+4)=35

multiplying both the sides of the equation by 4, we get,

4p+4(2p+4)+8+(2p+4)=140

4p+8p+16+8+2p+4=140

14p+28=140

14p=140-28

14p=112

p=\frac{112}{14} =8

Hence, Nancy bought 8 platies. Now that we know the number of platies, we can find the number of goldfish that she bought.

We know that she bought (2p+4) number of goldfish, putting the value of 'p', we get,

G= (2 \times 8 + 4)= 16+4=20

Hence, Nancy bought 20 goldfish for her aquarium.

Sophie has 5 pieces of string that are 4 yards each. She uses 3 pieces that are each 3 feet long. How much string does Sophie ha
stich3 [128]

Alright, lets get started.

Sophie has 5 pieces of string that are 4 yards each.

1 yards = 3 feet,

So, 4 yards = 4 * 3 =12 feet

Total number of string she has = 5 piece

So, total length she has = 5*12 = 60 feet

It means she had 60 feet string in starting.

Now, She uses 3 pieces that are each 3 feet long, means

She uses = 3*3 = 9 feet

So, remaining string length will be = 60 - 9 = 51 feet

Means 51 feet string does Sophie have. : Answer

Hope it will help :)

Which equation represents a line that has a slope of 1/3 and passes through point -2, one
tensa zangetsu [6.8K]

Answer: y= 1/3 x + 5/3

Step-by-step explanation:

1= 1/3(-2) + b where b is the y intercept

  1=   -2/3 + B

+2/3   +2/3

B = 5/3

so we know the slope and the y- intercept

y= 1/3x + 5/3   check:   1=1/3(-2) +5/3

                                    1 =1
