In average, each person in the industrialized world is responsible for the emission of 10,000 kg of carbon dioxide (CO2)(CO2) ev

ery year. This includes CO2CO2CO_2 that you generate directly, by burning fossil fuels to operate your car or your furnace, as well as CO2CO2CO_2 generated on your behalf by electric generating stations and manufacturing plants. CO2CO2CO_2 is a greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming. If you were to store your yearly emissions in a cube at STP, how long would each edge of the cube be?

Answer:

The length of the cubical container will be 17.206 m.

Explanation:

Amount of carbon dioxide gas generated in year by person = 10,000 kg

1 kg = 1000 g

10,000 kg = 10,000 × 1000 g = 10,000,000 g

Moles of carbon dioxide = \frac{10,000,000 g}{44 g/mol}=227,272.72 mol

Volume of carbon dioxide gas at STP= V

STP conditions = P = 1 atm , T = 273 K

Using Ideal gas equation ;

PV=nRT

V=\frac{nRT}{P}=\frac{227,272.72mol\times 0.0821 atm L/mol K\times 273 K}{1 atm}

V=5,093,931.82 L

1 L = 0.001 m^3

V=5,093,931.82 L=5,093,931.82 \times 0.001 m^3=5,093.93182 m^3

Let the side of the cube = a

Volume of the cube = a^3

V=5,093.93182 m^3

a^3=5,093.93182 m^3

a=\sqrt{5,093.93182 m^3}=17.206 m

The length of the cubical container will be 17.206 m.

How does fingerprinting work with remote sensing and dna barcodes
Ede4ka [16]

Fingerprint is the print of our finger, remote sensing are placed usually in locks in safety areas, it identifies the matching fingerprint and allows the people to enter, and in DNA barcode, location can be detected by remote sensing.

What is remote sensing?

Remote sensing is the identification of the sense of people, the data is feed to the device then according to the data it senses the presence and allow that people.

DNA barcoding is taking small fragment of DNA to find the progeny or its availability.

Thus, Remote sensing is typically used in locks in security areas to identify matching fingerprints and allow people to enter, and in DNA barcodes, location can be detected using remote sensing.

What is harder to pull apart a sodium ion from a chloride ion or a potassium ion from a chloride ion?
madreJ [45]
Hydrogen ion, strictly, the nucleus of a hydrogen atom separated from its accompanying electron. Thehydrogen nucleus is made up of a particle carrying a unit positive electric charge, called a proton. In a solution the hydroxide ion concentration is 1 ✕ 10-12 M. What is the pH of the solution?
Deffense [45]

Answer:

pH = 2 and pOH = 12

Explanation:

Given [OH⁻] = 1 x 10⁻¹²M

pOH = -log[OH⁻] = -log(1 x 10⁻¹²) = - ( -12 ) = 12

pH + pOH = 14 => pH = 14 - pOH = 14 - 12 = 2
