We need to graph the given piecewise function.

To graph any piecewise function we do that into parts

Let's graph upper part first which is

f(x)=x^2+2

restriction for that is -5 \leq x < 3

that means we are free to pick any number for x that is between -5 and 3, including 3.

So we will find few points by plugging random numbers between -5 and 3.

Let's use x=-5, we get:

f(-5)=(-5)^2+2=25+2=27

so first point is (-5,27).

similarly we can find other points like (0,2), (2,6), (-1,3) etc.

Now we join those points by a curved line.

-5 \leq x means we use a close circle at -5

x<3 means use open circle at 3

------------

Repeat same process for 2nd part f(x)=x-4

choose any number between 3 and 7 like x=3, 4 etc

so we get points (3,-1), (4,0) etc

Now graph them

So the final graph will look like:

Answer:    \bold{y=\dfrac{1\pm \sqrt{4x+13}}{2}}

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

Inverse is when you swap the x's and y's and solve for y:

y+\dfrac{13}{4}=\bigg(x-\dfrac{1}{2}\bigg)^2\\\\\\x+\dfrac{13}{4}=\bigg(y-\dfrac{1}{2}\bigg)^2\rightarrow \text{(swapped the x's and y's)}\\\\\\\sqrt{x+\dfrac{13}{4}}=\sqrt{\bigg(y-\dfrac{1}{2}\bigg)^2}\rightarrow \text{(took square root of both sides)}\\\\\\\sqrt{\dfrac{4x+13}{4}}=\pm \bigg(y-\dfrac{1}{2}\bigg)}\rightarrow \text{(created common denominator in radical)}\\\\\\ \dfrac{\sqrt{4x+13}}{2}=\pm \bigg(y-\dfrac{1}{2}\bigg)}\rightarrow \text{(simplified radical)}

\pm \dfrac{\sqrt{4x+13}}{2}=y-\dfrac{1}{2}}\rightarrow \text{(divided both sides by}\ \pm )\\\\\\\dfrac{1}{2}\pm \dfrac{\sqrt{4x+13}}{2}=y\quad \rightarrow \text{(added}\ \dfrac{1}{2}\ \text{to both sides)}\\\\\\\dfrac{1\pm \sqrt{4x+13}}{2}=y\quad \rightarrow \text{(combined numerators)}

Which represents the inverse go the function f(x) = 4x
neonofarm [45]
If we write y=4x then x=y/4 so x=g(y)=y/4. Therefore the inverse is g(x)=x/4.

Which of the following circles lie completely within the fourth quadrant? Check all that apply.
arlik [135]
Remember that the circle formula is (x – h)2 + (y – k)2 = r<span>2 where h and k represents the center of the circle. We determine as follows:

</span><span>A.(x - 2)2 + (y + 7)2 =64
</span><span> (h,k) = 2,-7 QUADRANT 4

</span><span>B.(x - 5)2 + (y + 5)2 = 9
</span><span> (h,k) = 5,-7 QUADRANT 4</span>

<span>C.(x - 9)2 + (y + 9)2 = 16
</span>(h,k) = 9,-9 QUADRANT 4

<span>D.(x - 12)2 + (y + 0)2 = 72
</span><span> (h,k) = 12,0 QUADRANT 4</span>
