Find the 21st term: 19, 25, 31, 37…..

Mathematics

Well because each term is increasing by 6 at a time, we just have to do that 20 times saying that 19 is the value of our 1st term. If we multiple 6 by 20 and add it to 19, we will get our 21st term. 6 times 20 is 120, if we add 19, it is 139.

139 is the 21st term.

Answer:

4x - 2y = -8--------equation 1

y = 2x + 4

or, -2x+y=4---------equation 2

multiply equation 2 by 2 and solving equation 1and2 we get,

What is the area of this polygon in square units ?
Maru [420]

Answer:

9 units²

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a trapezium.

The length of the two parallel lines (on top and bottom) are 5 units and 1 units.

The height of the trapezium is 3 units. Using these information, we can apply the formula for area of trapezium to find the answer.

Area = 1/2 (5 + 1) x 3 = 9 units²

A factory produces widgets whose length must be within 1.5 mm of an ideal length of 47 mm. A factory supervisor wants to mark ru
Nat2105 [25]

Using absolute value, it is found that:

 • The situation is described by the following equation: |l - 47| = 1.5
 • The markings should be between 45.5mm and 48.5mm.

---------------------------

The definition of the absolute value function is as follows:

|x| = x, x \geq 0

|x| = -x, x < 0

----------------------------

The length should be set to 47mm with an allowance of 1.5mm, which means that the absolute value of the difference between the length and 47 should be 1.5, thus:

|l - 47| = 1.5

----------------------------

The solutions are:

l - 47 = -1.5 \rightarrow l = 45.5

l - 47 = 1.5 \rightarrow l = 48.5

The markings should be between 45.5mm and 48.5mm.
