How many liters of water vapor can be produced if 13.3 liters of methane gas (CH4) are combusted, if all measurements are taken
Pie
To get the number of liters of water vapor produced from the combustion of methane gas, we just need the stoichiometric ratio of water to methane which is 2:1. So the number of liters of water vapor from 13.3 liters of methane is 26.6 liters.

Why do materials interact to light differently?
liubo4ka [24]

Answer:

Refracted (refraction) – the bending of transmitted light as it travels across the boundary of one material into another material in which it's speed is different. Unlike diffraction, this change in direction of light occurs because light is changing its speed in the different substances in it traveling in.

How many metres further would the sound intensity be 1/2 times as much as that at a distance of 3 m from an acoustic source?
marshall27 [118]

Solution :

Let, intensity at distance 3 m from the acoustic source is I_o.

We need to find the distance d where the intensity is \dfrac{I_o}{2}.

Now, we know intensity is inversely proportional to square of distance between the source.

\dfrac{I_o}{\dfrac{I_o}{2}} = \dfrac{d^2}{3^2}\\\\d^2 = 18 \\\\d = 3\sqrt{2}\ m

Therefore, intensity will be halved at a distance of 3\sqrt{2}\ m.
