Gloria Steinem's fame as feminist came in 1969 after publishing an article about women leadership. In 2005, she founded Women's Media Center together with Robin Morgan and Jane Fonda. The purpose is to give women a platform in media. Steinman has been involved internationally dealing with gender equality.  

Jane Fonda is also a feminist who has protested against women violence. Together with Steinman, they make appearances on different media platforms to discuss feminism, equality and other issues affecting women.
