A train 4.00 3 102 m long is moving on a straight track with a speed of 82.4 km/h. The engineer applies the brakes at a crossing

, and later the last car passes the crossing with a speed of 16.4 km/h. Assuming constant acceleration, determine how long the train blocked the crossing. Disregard the width of the crossing.

Answer:

The  value  is  t  =29.2  \  s

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

Generally the average velocity of the train is mathematically represented as

          v  =  \frac{u +  v}{2}

substituting  82.4 km/h for  u and   16.4 km/h. for  v

       v  =  \frac{82.4 + 16.4}{2}

          v  =  49.4 \  km/h

Generally the time taken is mathematically represented as

     t  =  \frac{ L}{v}

substituting   49.4 \  km/h for  v and  4.00 * 10^2 \  m  =  0.400 \  km

         t  =  \frac{ 0.400}{49.4}

          t  = 0.00809 \  h

converting to seconds

         t  = 0.00809 * 3600

          t  =29.2  \  s

Name the four fundamental (basic) forces.
lorasvet [3.4K]
From what I have been told, the four basic forces regarding physics are the strong or powerful force, a gravitational force, an electromagnetic force, and a weak force. The strong force binds nuclei. Weak forces take care of nuclear decay. Electromagnetic forces exists when two or more objects have an electric charge like a magnet or positive and negative, negative and positive And gravitational forces is just gravity. What holds us down.

Why do we measure volume
Misha Larkins [42]

Explanation:

Volume is often quantified numerically using the SI derived unit, the cubic metre. The volume of a container is generally understood to be the capacity of the container; i. e., the amount of fluid (gas or liquid) that the container could hold, rather than the amount of space the container itself displaces.

We don't use units like triangular prism feet or spherical kilometers because the three axes don't make a "corner" of any other shape other than a cube.

At some instant and location, the electric field associated with an electromagnetic wave in vacuum has the strength 98.5 V/m. Fi
77julia77 [94]

Answer:

B = 3.28 \times 10^{-7} T

u_{density} = 4.3 \times 10^{-8} J/m^3

Intensity = 12.88 W/m^2

Explanation:

As we know that the electric field strength in vacuum due to electromagnetic waves is given as

E = 98.5 V/m

now we know the relation between electric field and magnetic field as

B = \frac{E}{c}

B = \frac{98.5}{3\times 10^8}

B = 3.28 \times 10^{-7} T

For energy density we know that

u_{density} = \frac{1}{2}\epsilon_0 E^2

u_{density} = \frac{1}{2}(8.85 \times 10^{-12})(98.5)^2

u_{density} = 4.3 \times 10^{-8} J/m^3

Power flow per unit area is given as

Intensity = energy density \times speed

Intensity = (4.3 \times 10^{-8})(3\times 10^8)

Intensity = 12.88 W/m^2

What is the original source of energy for gasoline?
Yuki888 [10]
Gasoline comes from petroleum, which is a fossil fuel. Petroleum, coal and natural gas (methane) are all made in the earth's crust from the bodies of plants and animals that died long ago. That's why they are called fossil fuels.

The sun provides the energy that all life needs to grow and reproduce. Therefore, fossil fuels can be considered a form of solar energy that has been stored in the bodies of living things, and then concentrated in hydrocarbon deposits in the earth's crust.

The fact is that all the energy on earth comes from the sun, directly or indirectly, except for nuclear energy, which comes from radioactive elements that were made in other stars that existed before the sun.

Hope this helps!!!
