What mass (in mg) does 2.63 moles of nickel have? 3.56 × 105 mg 1.54 × 105 mg 2.23 × 104 mg 129 mg?
jarptica [38.1K]
1.54 x 10^5 mg The atomic weight of nickel is 58.6934 Since you have 2.63 moles, the mass will be 2.63 * 58.6934 = 154.3636 grams. Multiply by 1000 to get milligrams 154.3636 * 1000 = 154363.6 g Convert to scientific notation 1.543636 x 10^5 Look at the available options and see what matches. 3.56 x 10^5 mg ; Nope, way too big 1.54 x 10^5 mg; Matches to the number of significant figures given. 2.23 x 10^4 mg; Nope, way too small 129 mg; Nope, way too small.

Question:
What is the molar concentration of 1.29 mol of KCL dissolved in 350 mL of solution?
STatiana [176]

Answer:

M = 3.69 M.

Explanation:

Hello there!

In this case, according to the given information, it turns out possible for us to calculate the molar concentration of the 1.29 moles of KCl in 350 mL of solution by recalling the mathematical definition of molarity as the division of the moles by the volume in liters, in this case 0.350 L; thus, we proceed as follows:

M=\frac{1.29mol}{0.350L}\\\\M=3.69M

Which gives molar units, M, or just mol/L.

Regards!

How do everyday activities like driving a car and using electricity lead to global warming ?
Sati [7]
Both driving a car and using electricity produce several greenhouse gases which can lead to global warming.Greenhouse gases are gases that, when released into the atmosphere, trap the heat from the sun's energy. Every day the energy from the sun reaches the earth. Some of the energy is reflected back into space and some of the energy is trapped by the earth's atmosphere. Most of the time the energy being trapped by the atmosphere serves to warm up the earth, so that the temperature does not fluctuate dramatically. In this way the atmosphere acts like a greenhouse - trapping the warmth in. One of the ways that electricity is made is by burning fossil fuels, like coal or fuel. When a fuel is burnt, some of the products are: carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and water - all of these gases are greenhouse gases. In a similar way driving a car also burns fossil fuels, and this will produce the same gases.Before lots of fossil fuels were burnt the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere would have been moderated by the carbon cycle. However, if we burn excess fossil fuels we are producing excess greenhouse gases. This can cause more heat to be trapped by the atmosphere and therefore the global temperature will start to rise - global warming. hope i helped
