Tea party movement was founded in 2009 by some conservatives in the Republican Party. They organized protests and made their points known to the government. They pushed for reduced taxation in the country and a reduction in regulation too.

They did this because they wanted these changes to alleviate the potential fears they had about the present government from another party and wanted a return of previous laws which were in use.This is why it is known as regressive social movement.
