A motorcycle is stopped at a traffic light. When the light turns green, the motorcycle accelerates to a speed of 91 km/h over a
zimovet [89]

Given :

Initial speed , u = 0 m/s .

Final speed , v = 91 km/h = 25.28 m/s .

To Find :

a) Average acceleration .

b ) Assuming the motorcycle maintained a constant acceleration, how far is it from the traffic light after 3.3 s .

Solution :

a )

We know ,by equation of motion :

v^2-u^2=2as\\\\a=\dfrac{v^2-u^2}{2s}\\\\a=\dfrac{25.28^2-0^2}{2\times 47}\ m/s^2\\\\a=6.8\ m/s^2

b)

Also , by equation of motion :

s=ut+\dfrac{at^2}{2}\\\\s=0+\dfrac{6.8\times (3.3)^2}{2}\ m\\\\s=37.02\ m

Hence , this is the required solution .

A small 12.00 g plastic ball is suspended by a string in a uniform, horizontal electric field. If the ball is in equilibrium whe
notsponge [240]

Answer:

Q = \frac{0.068}{E}

where E = electric field intensity

Explanation:

As we know that plastic ball is suspended by a string which makes 30 degree angle with the vertical

So here force due to electrostatic force on the charged ball is in horizontal direction along the direction of electric field

while weight of the ball is vertically downwards

so here we have

QE = F_x

mg = F_y

since string makes 30 degree angle with the vertical so we will have

tan\theta = \frac{F_x}{F_y}

tan30 = \frac{QE}{mg}

Q = \frac{mg}{E}tan30

Q = \frac{0.012\times 9.81}{E} tan30

Q = \frac{0.068}{E}

where E = electric field intensity

What happens when you change the number of electrons in an atom
aalyn [17]
<h2>Answer: It becomes an Ion </h2>

When an atom has gained or lost electrons (negative charge), it becomes an ion.

In this sense:

<h2>Ions are atoms that have <u>gained or lost</u> electrons in their electronic cortex. </h2><h2> </h2>

If a neutral atom <u>loses electrons</u>, it remains with an excess of positive charge and transforms into a positive ion or <u>cation</u>, whereas if a neutral atom <u>gains electrons</u>, it acquires an excess of negative charge and transforms into a negative ion or <u>anion</u>.

It is then how ions form bonds with other atoms differently depending on the number of electrons they have.
