As we cab see it is given clearly in the diagram that the diameter of the sphere in question is 12 units. Therefore, the radius of the sphere will be half of the diameter and thus, it will be:

radius, r=\frac{diameter}{2}=\frac{12}{2}=6 units.

Now that we know the value of the radius, r, we can find the surface area of the sphere by applying the following formula:

Surface Area=4\pi r^2

Therefore, Surface Area=4\pi(6)^2=4\times 36\times \pi=144\pi unit squared

Thus, out of the given options, Option C is the correct answer.

It is C because 4 pi r^2 is the surface area equation. 4 times 6 squared= 144. 144pi = surface area.

What is the equation of the quadratic graph with a focus of (8, −8) and a directrix of y = −6?
yarga [219]
The vertex is exactly half way between directrix and focus. In this case the vertex is (8,-7)
               (h,k)

P is the distance between the vertex and either the directrix or focus,  in this case p = 1.

a = 1/(4p)  or 1/(4*1) or 1/4

write the equation in vertex form

y = a(x-h)^2 + k

y = 1/4(x-8)^2 -7

What is an equation of the line that passes through the points (0, -1)(0,−1) and (6, 1)(6,1)?
horrorfan [7]

slope = y2 - y1 \div x2 - x1

1 -  - 1 \div 6 - 0

2 \div 6

1 \div 3

y = mx + c

1 = 1 \div 3 \times 6 + c

1 = 2 + c

c = 3

y = 1 \div 3x + 3

Write an equation of the line satisfying the given conditions. Through (2, -5), parallel to 5x 6y + 7
mojhsa [17]

We have to determine the equation of the line passing through the point (2,-5) and parallel to the line 5x = 6y+7

When two lines are parallel, then the slopes of the two lines are equal.

Equation of line with point (x_1, y_1) and slope 'm' is given by:

(y-y_1) = m(x-x_1)

Since, we have to determine the equation of a line with point (2,-5).

So, the equation of the line is : (y-(-5)) = m(x-2)

y+5 = m(x-2)

Since, the line is parallel to the line 5x = 6y+ 7

So, 6y +7 = 5x

6y = 5x - 7

y = \frac{5}{6}x - \frac{7}{6}

So, slope of the line  'm' is \frac{5}{6}.

Therefore, the equation of the line is:

(y+5) = \frac{5}{6}(x-2)

6y + 30 = 5x - 10

6y - 5x = -10-30

6y - 5x = -40

Therefore, 6y - 5x = -40 is the required equation of the line.
