I've searched online on what a graph look like in each given function and based on my online search, the given image of of the equation f(x) is a CUBIC FUNCTION.

A cubic function is like this: f(x) = ax³ + bx² + cx + d

The given graph can have this equation:

y = (x + 1) (x - 1) (x - 3)

Answer: Cubic

Step-by-step explanation:

Linear function is a function which graph is a straight line,

According to the given graph,

Function f(x) is not a line,

Hence, it can not be a linear function.

The quadratic function is a curved function which has two roots that is its graph has two coordinate intercept.

But f(x) has three roots ( by the graph )

That's why it can not be quadratic function.

The cubic function is also a curved function that has three roots,

And, f(x) has three roots ( shown in the graph)

⇒ It is a cubic function.

Exponential or logarithm function  is a function that shows exponential growth or decay.

But f(x) is not growing or decaying exponentially.

That's why it is not an exponential or logarithm function.

A local boys club sold 176 bags of mulch and made a total cost of $520.They sold hardwood mulch for $3.50 per bag and pine bark
ExtremeBDS [4]

Answer:

So here is the answer.

We represent h = hardwood and p = pine bark

Here is the equation: h + p = 176

2.75p + 3.50h = 520

Next, p = 176 -h (substitute)

2.75 (176-h) + 3.5h = 520

484 -2.75h + 3.5h = 520

3.5h-2.75h = 520 -484

0.75h = 36 (divide both by 0.75)

h = 48

Therefore, the number of hardwood sold is 48.

h + p = 176

p = 176-48

p= 128

The number of pine bark sold is 128.

Hope this helps :)

Determine what Descartes’ Rule of Signs says about the number of positive real roots and negative real roots for the polynomial
Allushta [10]

Answer:

Descarte's rule says that the polynomial will have the number of zeroes equal to the number of times  the sign off the coefficient changes.

For positive real roots:

P(x)=9x^3-4x^2+10

The coefficient of polynomial is:

+9 -4 +10

There is 2 time sign in changing in 1st and 2nd term and then in 2nd and 3rd term.

So,there will be 2 positive  real roots or less but even.

For negative real roots  find P(-x)

P(-x)=-(9x^3-4x^2+10)

P(-x)=-9x^3+4x^2-10

So, coefficient of above polynomial is:

-9 +4 -10

There is 2 time sign in changing in 1st and 2nd term and then in 2nd and 3rd term.

So,there will be 2 negative real roots or less but even.
