a) consider the first song played . The probability of its being liked is 4/9.

And for second song, we have 3 liked songs and 8 remaining songs.

Hence probability of second being liked is 3/8.

Overall probability = (4/9)*(3/8) = 1/6 = 0.167 hence it is almost unusual.

b) First song being not liked is 5/9.

And for second song being not liked is 4/8.

Hence overall probability = (5/9)*(4/8) = 5/18.

c) To like exactly one of them, it has 2 possibilities. First song may be liked and second song disliked = (4/9)*(5/8) = (5/18)

First song may be disliked and second song liked = (5/9)*(4/8) = (5/18)

Hence overall probability = (5/18)+(5/18) = 5/9

d)  a)Probability of 2 songs liked by me with replacement means in both cases i have to select a song from 4 liked songs.

Hence probability = (4/9)*(4/9) = 16/81

b) probability of both being not liked by me is = (5/9)*(5/9) = (25/81)

c) probability of exactly one being liked = (4/9)*(5/9)+(5/9)*(4/9) = 40/81

What is the value of x? (SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT BRO PLEASEEEEE IGNORE THE 9 smh)
max2010maxim [7]

Answer:

x=28

Step-by-step explanation:

Sum of all the angles in the triangle add up to equal 180

90 + x + 6 + 2x = 180

combine like terns

96 + 3x = 180

subtract 96 from each side

180-96=84

96-96 cancels out

3x=84

divide each side by 3

84/3=28

3/3 cancels out

x=28

An exceptionally bright high school student has applied for two scholarships: a merit scholarship and an athletic scholarship. H
9966 [12]

Answer:

a) 0.70

b) 0.82

Step-by-step explanation:

a)

Let M be the event that student get merit scholarship and A be the event that student get athletic scholarship.

P(M)=0.3

P(A)=0.6

P(M∩A)=0.08

P(not getting merit scholarships)=P(M')=?

P(not getting merit scholarships)=1-P(M)

P(not getting merit scholarships)=1-0.3

P(not getting merit scholarships)=0.7

The probability that student not get the merit scholarship is 70%.

b)

P(getting at least one of two scholarships)=P(M or A)=P(M∪A)

P(getting at least one of two scholarships)=P(M)+P(A)-P(M∩A)

P(getting at least one of two scholarships)=0.3+0.6-0.08

P(getting at least one of two scholarships)=0.9-0.08

P(getting at least one of two scholarships)=0.82

The probability that student gets at least one of two scholarships is 82%.
