Answer:

  • As the atomic number is half of the atomic mass then it probably have 304/2 = 152 atomic number that will be placed before atom having atomic number 153 and after atom that have 151 atomic number.
  • According to all its properties it will be somewhere in the left or middle of the periodic table and will be at the bottom.
  • At the bottom in the super actinide metals series.

Explanation:

Data Given:

Predict place of element in the periodic Table having following properties

mass number = 304 amu

Ionization energy = very low

bonds = easily bond with other elements

melting point = 50.1° C

electronegativity = smallest

Atomic radius = largest

metallic character = great

color =  silver

Periodic Table is the table where elements were placed based on their atomic number.

In 1913 Mosley construct the periodic table according to their atomic number.

Modern Periodic Law :

the physical and chemical Properties of the elements are the periodic functions of their atomic number.

Atomic Number:

Atomic number is the number of electron or proton, denoted by Z

                Z = e or P

Atomic Mass:

Atomic mass is the number of proton plus neutron in the nucleus. it is denoted by A.

              A = P + N

Atomic number is almost half of the atomic mass for majority of the element.

Periodicity of periodic Table:

properties of the element repeat itself at certain interval.

Periodicity of Properties is as follow

1. Ionization energy:

The Ionization energy increase from left to right and decreases down the group.

2. Electronegativity:

E.N increase from left to right and decreases down the group.

3. metallic character:

Metallic character increase down the group and decrease from left to right. metals have metallic color, bristle and shiny surface.

4. non-metallic character

Non-metallic character decreases down the group and increases from left to right.

5. Melting point and boiling Point:

Melting point and boiling Point increases when the metallic character increase and decreases when the metallic character decreases.

6. Atomic radius :

Atomic Radius decrease from left to right and increases from top to bottom as shells are added.

Now keeping in mind all above points, to predict the place of the atom whose properties are given.

In the presence of excess oxygen, methane gas burns in a constant-pressure system to yield carbon dioxide and water: CH4 (g) 2O2
Degger [83]

Answer:

The energy released will be -94.56 kJ or -94.6 kJ.

Explanation:

The molar mass of methane is 16g/mol

The given reaction is:

CH_{4}(g) + 2O_{2} (g) --> CO_{2} (g)+ 2H_{2}O(l)

the enthalpy of reaction is given as ΔH = -890.0 kJ

This means that when one mole of methane undergoes combustion it gives this much of energy.

Now as given that the amount of methane combusted = 1.70g

The energy released will be:

=\frac{energy released by one moleXgiven mass}{molarmass} =\frac{-890X1.7}{16}= -94.56 kJ

50 POINTS!!!! Please Help I'm being timed and this would help so much! 50 POINTS!!!!
Studentka2010 [4]

Answer:

[H⁺] = 1.0 x 10⁻¹² M.

Explanation:

∵ [H⁺][OH⁻] = 10⁻¹⁴.

[OH⁻] = 1 x 10⁻² mol/L.

∴ [H⁺] =  10⁻¹⁴/[OH⁻] = (10⁻¹⁴)/(1 x 10⁻² mol/L) = 1.0 x 10⁻¹² M.

∵ pH = - log[H⁺] = - log(1.0 x 10⁻¹² M) = 12.0.

∴ The solution is basic, since pH id higher than 7 and also the [OH⁻] > [H⁺].

How is sound energy produced? A. by vibrating objects B. by stationary objects C. by temperature differences D. by objects being
viva [34]
Sound energy is produced by vibrating objects.

Example: when you speak you vibrate the air molecules in the air. If you where to speak in space no “sound” would be produced since there is nothing for the vibration of your voice to travel through.

Which effect can you observe when the starting K2Cr2O7is diluted? Does the position (lambda) of the maximal absorption peaks cha
Marianna [84]

After the dillution of the solution, the wavelength of maximum absorption is decreased.

What is the wavelength of maximum absorption?

The wavelength of maximum absorption is the wavelength at which the solution absorbs the maximum amount of light. It is usually shown as a hump in the spectrum.

When the starting concentration of the K2Cr2O7 is diluted, the wavelength of maxium absorption decreases.

Carbon dioxide is released in________and taken in by plants in ______
alex41 [277]

Answer: A

Explanation:

Plants take in sunlight, water, carbon dioxide. The produce sugar (glucose) and other things. It could not be deforestation. It can't be evaporation, that is from the water cycle. It cant be C due to it talking about precipitation, which is also from the water cycle. Therefore, it can only be A
