Answer : The specify the l and ml values for n = 4 are:

At l = 0, m_l=0

At l = 1, m_l=+1,0,-1

At l = 2, m_l=+2,+1,0,-1,-2

At l = 3, m_l=+3,+2,+1,0,-1,-2,-3

Explanation:

There are 4 quantum numbers :

Principle Quantum Numbers : It describes the size of the orbital. It is represented by n. n = 1,2,3,4....

Azimuthal Quantum Number : It describes the shape of the orbital. It is represented as 'l'. The value of l ranges from 0 to (n-1). For l = 0,1,2,3... the orbitals are s, p, d, f...

Magnetic Quantum Number : It describes the orientation of the orbitals. It is represented as m_l. The value of this quantum number ranges from (-l\text{ to }+l). When l = 2, the value of m_l will be -2, -1, 0, +1, +2.

Spin Quantum number : It describes the direction of electron spin. This is represented as m_sThe value of this is +\frac{1}{2} for upward spin and -\frac{1}{2} for downward spin.

As we are given, n = 4 then the value of l and ml are,

l = 0, 1, 2, 3

At l = 0, m_l=0

At l = 1, m_l=+1,0,-1

At l = 2, m_l=+2,+1,0,-1,-2

At l = 3, m_l=+3,+2,+1,0,-1,-2,-3

Liula [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

The emissions trading program work to set an environmental goal to control pollution. The program is working to reduce the overall pollution effect by

Install pollution control technology, such as a scrubber to remove pollution before it comes out of the smokestack.

Replace existing pollution controls with more advanced technologies.

Tune-up existing controls so they run better.

Switch to alternative fuels that emit less pollution.

Shift production to lower emitting or more efficient units.

Gravity and magnetism are ________ forces.
vekshin1

Gravity and magnetism are not the same thing. In fact, they are completely separate forces. Gravity is a force that acts between any two objects with mass. ... Magnetism can either pull the two objects together or push them apart, depending on which way the magnets point.

Hope this helps!

Determine the electron-group arrangement, molecular shape, and ideal bond angle(s) for each of the following:
lubasha [3.4K]

Solution :

a). $SO_3$

This compound is known as sulfur trioxide.

The molecular shape of sulfur trioxide is trigonal planer.

And the bond angle is 120°.

b). $N_2O$

This compound is known as Nitrous oxide. Here, nitrogen is in the center. There is no lone pair around the nitrogen atom and it forms two sigma bonds with the other two atoms.

It is linear in shape.

The bond angle between them is 180°.

c). $CH_2Cl_{2}$

This compound is known as the Dichloromethane.

The molecular shape of the compound is tetrahedral.

   The bond angles is 120°

A 14 carbon fatty acid that goes through the fatty acid spiral will net how much energy, measured in ATP?
AlexFokin [52]

Answer:

94 ATP molecules

Explanation:

To answer the question we need to understand the beta oxidation of fatty acid.

  1. First we need to know each electron carrier produces different number of ATP molecules in the electron transport chain.
  • That is, FADH₂ yields 1.5 ATP while NADH yields 2.5 ATP molecules
  • Additionally, for every acetyl coA, 10 ATP molecules are produced.

What happens during oxidation of a fatty acid with even number of carbon, C₂ₙ?

  • During beta oxidation of an even number fatty acid, C₂ₙ, n-1 FADH₂, n-1 NADH and n acetyl coA molecules are produced.
  • Therefore, for a fatty acid with 14 carbons, then 6 molecules of FADH₂, 6 molecules of NADH and 7 acetyl coA are produced.
  • Therefore, the number of ATP molecules will be;

From; 6 FADH₂ = 6 × 1.5 = 9 ATP

          6 NADH; 6 × 2.5 = 15 ATP

7 Acetly CoA ; 7 × 10 = 70 ATP

This gives a total of 94 ATP molecules

Hence a 14 carbon fatty acid produces 94 ATP molecules after beta oxidation.
