Volume = 20.0 cm³

density = 19.3 g/cm³

Therefore:

mass = density * volume

mass = 19.3 * 20.0

mass = 386 g

What are the atomic number and mass number of this atom
lina2011 [118]
No diagram is given therefore I cannot answer however, use this for reference.
The atomic mass of an atom would be the number of protons PLUS the number of neutrons. Because this atom shown has 6 protons and 6 neutrons, they add up to 12. In this case, the atomic mass of this atom is 12. Atomic number is the number of protons in an atom, in this case it is 6. The atomic number is 6.

Which of the following molecules is amphipathic?
raketka [301]

Answer:

B) CH3(CH2)10CO2H

Explanation:

Hello,

In this case, we define amphipathic as a compound having both a hydrophilic and a hydrophobic part, for that reason, the hydrophilic part will be water-soluble (polar) whereas the hydrophobic does not (nonpolar). In such a way, some functional groups such as hydroxyl and carboxyl tend to be polar by cause of the presence of O-H bonds whereas long-carboned chains tend to be nonpolar by cause of the presence of C-H and C-C bonds.

Therefore, since A) CH3CH2OH (ethanol) and D) CH3CO2H (acetic acid) are short-carboned chains with polar groups they are largely hydrophilic whereas C) CH3(CH2)10CH3 (dodecane) is highly nonpolar, we sum up that only B) CH3(CH2)10CO2H (dodecanoic acid or lauric acid) is amphoteric as it has a long-charboned part (nonpolar) and a water-soluble part (polar).

Best regards.

Since this reaction takes place in acidic solution, H2O(l) and H+(aq) will be involved in the reaction. Places for these species
maxonik [38]

Answer:

The balanced equation is given below:

SO4^2−(aq)+ Sn^2+(aq) + 4H^+(aq) → H2SO3(aq)+ Sn^4+(aq) + H2O(l)

The coefficients of the reactants are: 1, 1, 4

The coefficients of the products are: 1, 1, 1

Explanation:

Step 1:

The equation for the reaction. This is given below:

SO4^2−(aq)+ Sn^2+(aq) + –––→ H2SO3(aq)+ Sn^4+(aq) + –––

Step 2:

Inclusion of H+ and H2O into the equation. This is illustrated below:

SO4^2−(aq)+ Sn^2+(aq) + H^+(aq) → H2SO3(aq)+ Sn^4+(aq) + H2O(l)

Step 3:

Balancing the equation.

SO4^2−(aq)+ Sn^2+(aq) + H^+(aq) → H2SO3(aq)+ Sn^4+(aq) + H2O(l)

The above equation can be balanced as follow:

There are total 4 atoms of H on the right side and 1 atom on the left side. It can be balance by putting 4 in front of H^+ as shown below:

SO4^2−(aq)+ Sn^2+(aq) + 4H^+(aq) → H2SO3(aq)+ Sn^4+(aq) + H2O(l)

Now the equation is balanced.

The coefficients of the reactants are: 1, 1, 4

The coefficients of the products are: 1, 1, 1
