The basics are pretty simple. You have a line with small notches on it for numbers. If you are given a set of points, you can plot them one of two ways. Say you’re given a value that can be in between one and five. That could be expressed as such:
1Because your x value cannot include 1 or 5–it can be 2, 3 or 4 (including decimals)—you would use a closed dot, something that looks like this —> •
You would place this on the number line, on top of one and five.

However, if your given value can be anything from one to five including one and five, it would be expressed as such:
1 ≤x ≤5, or 1 is less than or equal to x, x is less than or equal to 5.
You would use an open dot, like this —> °
A number line can also include a mixture of the two.

For example, in the picture shown, the equation would be: -3 ≤x<1
x can be anything from -3 to 1, including -3 but not including 1.
These are just the basics.

A machine has four components, A, B, C, and D, set up in such a manner that all four parts must work for the machine to work pro
olchik [2.2K]

Answer:

0.756

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that a machine has four components, A, B, C, and D.

P(A)=P(B)=0.93, P(C)=0.95,P(D)=0.92

If these components set up in such a manner that all four parts must work for the machine to work properly.

We need to find the probability that the machine works properly. It means we have to find the value of P(A\cap B\cap C\cap D).

If two events X and Y are independent, then

P(X\cap Y)=P(X)\times P(Y)

Assume the probability of one part working does not depend on the functionality of any of the other parts.

P(A\cap B\cap C\cap D)=P(A)\times P(B)\times P(C)\times P(D)

Substitute the given values.

P(A\cap B\cap C\cap D)=0.93\times 0.93\times 0.95\times 0.92

P(A\cap B\cap C\cap D)=0.7559226

P(A\cap B\cap C\cap D)\approx 0.756

Therefore, the probability that the machine works properly is 0.756.

U(x)=-2-2x+7 please help
Black_prince [1.1K]
<span>Simplifying u(x) = -2 + -2x + 7 Multiply u * x ux = -2 + -2x + 7 Reorder the terms: ux = -2 + 7 + -2x Combine like terms: -2 + 7 = 5 ux = 5 + -2x Solving ux = 5 + -2x Solving for variable 'u'. Move all terms containing u to the left, all other terms to the right. Divide each side by 'x'. u = 5x-1 + -2 Simplifying u = 5x-1 + -2 Reorder the terms: u = -2 + 5x-1</span>
