You have devised an experiment to measure the kinetic coefficient of friction between a ramp and block. You place the block on t

he ramp at an angle high enough that it starts sliding. You measure the time it takes to fall down a known distance. The time it takes to fall down the ramp starting from a standstill is 0.5 sec, ???? = 1 kg, θ = 45o, and the distance it falls, L, is 0.5 m. What is µk? (8 pts)

Answer:

 μ = 0.423

Explanation:

To solve this exercise we must use Newton's second law and kinematics together, let's start using expressions of kinematics to find the acceleration of the body

Let's fix a reference system where the x axis is parallel to the inclined plane, but the acceleration is only on this axis

            x = v₀ t + ½ a t²

The body starts from rest so its initial speed is zero

            a = 2 x / t²

            a = 2 0.5 /0.5²

            a = 4 m / s²

Taking the acceleration of the body, we use Newton's second law, we take the direction up the plane as positive

  X axis

                fr - Wₓ = m a          (1)

  Y Axis

               N- W_{y} = 0

                N = W_{y}

We use trigonometry to find the components of the weight

            sin 45 = Wₓ / W

           cos 45 = W_{y} / W

           Wₓ = W sin 45

           W_{y} = W cos 45

The out of touch has the expression

             fr = μ N

             fr = μ W_{y}

We substitute in 1

             μ mg cos 45 - mg sin 45 = m a

             W_{y} = (a + g sin 45) / g cos 45

              μ = a / g cos 45 + 1

We calculate

Acceleration goes down the plane, so it is negative

           a = -4 m / s²

            μ = 1- 4 / (9.8 cos 45)

            μ = 0.423

Answer:

The μ = 0.422

Explanation:

The distance travelled by the mass is equal to:

L=ut+\frac{1}{2}at^{2}  \\0.5=(0*5)+\frac{1}{2} a(0.5^{2} )\\a=4m/s^{2}

The sum of forces in y-direction equals zero:

∑Fy = 0

N - (m * g * cosθ) = 0

N - (1 * 9.8 * cos45) = 0

N = 6.93 N

The sum of forces in x-direction is equal to:

∑Fx = ma

(m * g * sinθ) - fk = m * a

(1 * 9.8 * sin45) - fk = 1 * 4

fk = 2.93 N

fk = μ * N

2.93 = μ * 6.93

μ = 0.422

The stars in the sky are organized into groups of stars called constellations which appear near each other in the sky but are no
bezimeni [28]

Answer:

The International Astronomical Union (IAU)  has accepted 88 constellations in the sky.

Explanation:

Constellations has been used since the beginnings of civilizations and each one of them named them as they considered appropiate. It means Greeks' constellations were different than the ones described by Chinese, so it was necessary to gather all these constellations and make a great record with all of them, but there was a problem: Some constellations from different civilizations overlaped because they shared the same stars. There was necessary to put some order on this and that is when in 1922 the International Astronomical Union (IAU) defned a set of 88 moderm constellations  that would become the international standard to look at the night sky. Each one of them is unique and does not share stars with the other constellations.

A cellist tunes the C string of her instrument to a fundamental frequency of 65.4 Hz. The vibrating portion of the string is 0.5
Dahasolnce [82]

Answer:

a

\lambda  = 1.18 \  m

b

v  =  77.172 \  m/s

c

T  = 151.41 \  N

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The frequency is  f =  65.4 \  Hz

   The  length of the vibrating string is  L  =  0.590 \  m

   The  mass is  m  =  15.0 \ g  =  0.015 \  kg

Generally the wavelength is mathematically represented as

           \lambda =  2 *  L

=>        \lambda  =  2 *   0.590

=>         \lambda  = 1.18 \  m

Generally the wave speed is

          v  =  \lambda  *  f

=>       v  =  1.18 * 65.4

=>       v  =  77.172 \  m/s

Generally the tension on the wire is mathematically represented as

        T  =  v^2  *  \frac{ m }{L }

=>      T  =  77.172 ^2  *  \frac{  0.015  }{0.590}

=>      T  = 151.41 \  N

The air is soundproof??
Svet_ta [14]
Not possible. The air is actually able to travel sound throughout itself without any difficulties. I believe, air actually brings sound closer to the people farther away ; It really helps to stretch sound.

A current of 2.0A flows through a light bulb. What is the amount of charge flowing through the light bulb in 40 seconds?
lidiya [134]

Answer:

Quantity of charge = 80 Coulombs

Explanation:

Given the following data;

Current = 2 A

Time = 40 seconds

To find the amount of charge flowing through the light bulb;

Mathematically, the quantity of charge passing through a conductor is given by the formula;

Quantity of charge = current * time

Substituting into the formula, we have;

Quantity of charge = 2 * 40

Quantity of charge = 80 Coulombs
