That was Johannes Kepler.

He couldn't say why that should happen. But he was able to show that
if we assume the the sun is in the center of the solar system, and assume
that the planets revolve around the sun in elliptical orbits, and assume that
the farther a planet is from the sun the longer it takes to orbit the sun, then
that matches everything that we see the planets actually doing in the sky.

Then Isaac Newton came along, and wrote down a short, simple formula
for the force of gravity. And then he showed that IF his formula for gravity
is correct, then the planets MUST do everything that we see them actually
doing in the sky, and they MUST behave according to Kepler's laws.

Which of the following statements is true concerning mechanical waves and electromagnetic waves?
Over [174]

Answer:

B

Explanation:

Electromagnetic spectrum includes visible light which we see all the time reflecting off objects to give them colours, mechanical waves like sound require something to move in, its the reason why people say you can't scream in space because space is a giant vacuum. No not the kind you use to clean up the mess you made from breakfast. The kind that has no air. So sound can be heard on earth as it is not a vacuum, air moves freely and transfers sounds vibrations all around you to be absorbed by walls and other stuff in comes in contact with.

Extra information:

Sound travels further in water because the molecules are closer together meaning that transferring the energy is easier. This is how Blue wales can communicate from hundreds of miles away.

A rope pulls a 20 kg box up. If the tension in the rope is 275 N, what is the acceleration of the box?
Nana76 [90]

Answer:

The answer is 13.75 m/s²

Explanation:

The acceleration of an object given it's mass and the force acting on it can be found by using the formula

a = \frac{f}{m} \\

f is the force

m is the mass

From the question we have

a = \frac{275}{20} = \frac{55}{4} \\

We have the final answer as

13.75 m/s²

Hope this helps you
