We know that
scale factor=1/8

volume smaller figure=[scale factor]³*volume larger figure
so
volume larger figure=volume smaller figure/[scale factor]³
volume smaller figure=7 km³
volume larger figure=7/[1/8]³----> 7/(1/512)---> 7*512---> 3584 km³

the answer Part a) is
the volume of the larger figure is 3584 km³

surface area smaller figure=[scale factor]²*surface area larger figure
surface area larger figure=surface area smaller figure/[scale factor]²
surface area smaller figure=9 km²
surface area larger figure=9/[1/8]²----> 9/(1/64)---> 9*64---> 576 km²

the answer part b) is
the surface area of the larger figure is 576 km²

Find the gradient of the curve y=-x^-3-5x^2+7x at x=2
Harman [31]

-8

Step-by-step explanation:

The gradient or slope of a curve y is simply the derivative of the curve at a point x. So we can proceed as follows

\dfrac{dy}{dx} = \dfrac{d}{dx}(x^3 -5x^2 +7) = 3x^2 -10x

Evaluated at x = 2, the gradient of the slope is

\left.\dfrac{dy}{dx}\right|_{x=2} = 3(2)^2 - 10(2) = -8

the front of a tent is an equilateral triangle with the ratio of its base b toits height h given by b/h+2/3 rewrite the equation
kap26 [50]

Answer:

h = b(√3)/2

Step-by-step explanation:

The ratio of base to height of an equilateral triangle is ...

... b/h = 2/√3

Multiplying both sides of the equation by (√3)h/2, we get

.. h = b(√3)/2 . . . . . . your equation with h as the subject
