You can estimate cube roots by trying to get the two closest cube roots. Inno used √9 and √16. These two roots are the closest to √10. The cube root of √9 and √16 are 3 and 4 respectively, which means the √10 is between these two numbers, because √10 is between √9 and √16. √9 is the closest to √10, so the cube root of 10 is a number close to 3.
