Mr. Arnold's 5th grade science class did an experiment to see if mold would grow better on moist bread or on dry bread. Each lab

group was given two pieces of bread. They were to add 20 mL of water to one piece of bread and no water to the other piece of bread. They were also to keep both pieces of bread in a cool, dark place and to make daily observations of the bread. However, Keisha and Sam did not read the lab procedure carefully and they put 20 mL of water on one piece of bread and 40 mL of water on the other piece of bread.
At the conclusion of the experiment, mold had grown on both pieces of their bread. On which piece of bread did mold grow better?
a Mold grew better on the moist bread.
b Mold grew better on the bread kept in the dark.
c Mold grew better on the dry bread.
d We don't know since Keisha and Sam added water to both pieces of bread.

IT WOULD GROW BETTER ON MOIST BREAD BECAUSE IF IT IS DRIED IT IS HARDER FOR IT TO FORM AND IF IT IS MOIST IT WILL GET MOLD ON IT FASTER

A heater has a resistance of 10.0 Ω. It operates on a 12.0 V. What is the current through the resistor?
irakobra [83]

Answer:

1.2 amps :)

Explanation:

A heater has a resistance of 10.0 Ω. It operates on a 12.0 V. What is the current through the resistor?

         Known:

  • R = 10.0 Ω
  • V = 12.0 V

       Unknown:

  • I = ???

I = V/R

= 12.0 V / 10.0 Ω

= 1.2 amps

As you drive in your car at 22.5 mi/h, you see a child’s ball roll into the street ahead of you. You hit the brakes and stop as
evablogger [386]

Answer:

Explanation:

Speed of car =22.5miles/hr

U=22.5miles/hour

Applied brake and come to rest

Final velocity, =0

t, =2sec

Given that,

Speed=distance /time

Then,

Distance, =speed, ×time

Converting mile/hour to m/s

Given that

Use: 1 mile= 1600 m, 1 h= 3600s

22.5miles/hour × 1600m/mile × 1hour/3600s

Therefore, 22.5mile/hour=10m/s

Using speed =10m/s

Distance =speed ×time

Distance=10×2

Distance, =20m

The distance travelled before coming to rest is 20m.

Answer:

D. The cart is moving at a constant speed or velocity

Explanation:

Equilibrium is a state of body in which it is either at rest or moves with uniform velocity. The sum of forces acting on such a body is always zero and the sum of all the torques acting on it is also zero.

There are two types of equilibrium as follows:

Static Equilibrium: When a body is at rest it is said to be in static equilibrium.

Dynamic Equilibrium: When a body is moving with constant velocity, then it is said to be in dynamic equilibrium.

Hence, the correct option here will be:

D. The cart is moving at a constant speed or velocity
