Answer:

The book value of shares is $10

Explanation:

The balance of shareholders equity is $2,200,000.This comprises of retained earnings of $800,000 and Issued Share Capital of $1,400,000(for 140,000 units of shares)

To ascertain the unit of shares, see below:

45000units= $450,000

15000units reacquired at $150,000

Which also means that $1,100,000 is for 110,000units of shares.

In each of these cases highlighted above share price is $10

for instance:$450,000/45000shares=$10

$150,000/15000=$10 e.t.c

valkas [14]

Answer:

A share of Citigroup stock represents a claim on Citigroup's assets that gives the purchaser a share of the corporation.

Depending on whether you are an investor or the corporation, a bond is more or less riskier than a stock.

If you are an investor, buying a bond is safer than buying stock since in a worse case scenario where the company goes bankrupt, bond holders are paid before than stockholders. Also bonds provide fixed periodic payments (coupons) and a final payment of the face of the bond at maturity date.

If you are the corporation, issuing bonds is riskier than issuing stock since you have the obligation of making fixed periodic payments to bondholders (coupons) and must pay the face value at maturity date. On the other hand corporations don't have any legal obligation to pay dividends.

A company with 110,000 authorized shares of $8 par common stock issued 49,000 shares at $13. Subsequently, the company declared
Jet001 [13]

Answer:

$29,400

Explanation:

The company will distribute dividends only to outstanding shares, since the number of outstanding shares is not specified, we should assume that all the 49,000 shares issued are outstanding shares. The company declared a 2% dividend, so we must multiply the current value of the stock times 2% = $30 x 2% = $0.60 per share.

The total amount distributed was 49,000 outstanding shares x $0.60 per share = $29,400
