Why do scientists believe that light is made of waves?

Physics

Answer:

Some basic phenomenon of waves is given as below

1) Interference

2) Diffraction

3) Reflection

4) Refraction

5) Polarization

So if we have a wave then it must show the above phenomenon

Initially reflection and refraction were assumed to be particle characteristics so light was assumed to be particle

but after theory given by great scientist Huygen it was proved that it is wave property.

Also light shows the property of polarization, interference and diffraction

so it all shows that light is of wave nature

Scientists believe that light is made of waves because experiments have shown that, based on Huygens's principle, waves have the ability to bend and change direction. This behavior of waves explains diffraction and interference.

Hope this helped!

Good luck :p

How many normal modes of oscillation or natural frequencies does each if the following have: (
Vadim26 [7]
Each of these systems has exactly one degree of freedom and hence only one natural frequency obtained by solving the differential equation describing the respective motions. For the case of the simple pendulum of length L the governing differential equation is d^2x/dt^2 = - gx/L with the natural frequency f = 1/(2π) √(g/L). For the mass-spring system the governing differential equation is m d^2x/dt^2 = - kx (k is the spring constant) with the natural frequency ω = √(k/m). Note that the normal modes are also called resonant modes; the Wikipedia article below solves the problem for a system of two masses and two springs to obtain two normal modes of oscillation.
