That's how brakes always used to work, so it was True, until just a few years ago.

But now, in hybrid or all-electric cars, brakes don't work by friction. So for that kind of cars, it's false.

Friction means that something holds back a moving object. When you apply the breaks in a car, you apply friction to a car that's moving to make it stop. Applying the breaks comes into contact with the car which enables it to totally stop. Therefore, the answer is True.

Two 2.5 kg physical science textbooks on a bookshelf are 0.14 m apart. What is the magnitude of the gravitational attraction bet
finlep [7]

Answer:

Explanation:

According to Newton's laws of gravitation force of attraction is given by

F = GMm/R²

G = 6.67 X 10⁻¹¹

,M = 2.5 Kg ,

m = 2.5 Kg ,

R = .14 m

=

F = 6.67 X 10⁻¹¹ X 2.5 X 2.5 / 0.14²

= 2126.9 X 10 ⁻¹¹ N.

KATRIN_1 [288]

Answer:

The young tree, originally bent, has been brought into the vertical position by adjusting the three guy-wire tensions to AB = 7 lb, AC = 8 lb, and AD = 10 lb. Determine the force and moment reactions at the trunk base point O. Neglect the weight of the tree.
