A track team will run a 4 mile relay race. The coach divided the students into groups of 4. The first runner of each group would

run 1/4 of the distance, the second runner would run the next 1/3 of the distance, the third runner would run 1/2 of the remaining distance, and the fourth would run the rest of the way. Some say this is unfair because some people would run longer distances than others. Are they correct, explain.

Write the following quotient in the form a+bi.<br> -7i/2-7i
Helga [31]

Answer:

\large\boxed{\dfrac{49}{53}-\dfrac{14}{53}i}

Step-by-step explanation:

\text{Use}\\\\i=\sqrt{-1}\to i^2=-1\\\\(a-b)(a+b)=a^2-b^2\to(a-bi)(a+bi)=a^2+b^2\\\\\text{distributive property}\ a(b+c)=ab+ac\\---------------------\\\\\dfrac{-7i}{2-7i}=\dfrac{-7i}{2-7i}\cdot\dfrac{2+7i}{2+7i}=\dfrac{-7i(2+7i)}{2^2+7^2}=\dfrac{(-7i)(2)+(-7i)(7i)}{4+49}\\\\=\dfrac{-14i-49i^2}{53}=\dfrac{-14i-49(-1)}{53}=\dfrac{-14i+49}{53}\\\\=\dfrac{49}{53}-\dfrac{14}{53}i

Katen [24]

Answer:

4c + 15

Step-by-step explanation:

THIS IS THE COMPLETE QUESTION BELOW;

A department store's customer parking lot has 4 rows with an equal number of parking spots in each row. The lot also has 15 parking spots for store employees. If c cars can be parked in each of the 4 main rows of the parking lot, what is the expression for the maximum number of cars that can be parked in the parking lot?

15c − 4

c(15 − 4)

4c + 15

4(c + 15)

✓We were told that the customer stores parking has Total number of 4 rows,

✓ for " c" cars to be parked in the 4 main rows i.e in each of them, we can calculate the overall numbers of car parked in the rolls as ( 4 × c)= 4c

✓ we were told that there are 15 parking spots available to employees in the store

✓ maximum number of cars that can fit into the parking lot will be ( 15 + 4c)

= 4c + 15

A password has to use the following format: LDDDDLLL, where L can be any of the upper case letters in the alphabet, and D can be
maw [93]

Answer:

Only vowels and odd numbers:

P = \frac{5}{26} *\frac{4}{25}* \frac{3}{24}* \frac{2}{23} *\frac{5}{10}* \frac{4}{9} *\frac{3}{8} *\frac{2}{7}

Spells math:

P = \frac{1}{26} *\frac{1}{25}* \frac{1}{24}* \frac{1}{23}

Step-by-step explanation:

We have four letters, so the probability that one letter is a vowel is 5/26 (we have 5 vowels in a total of 26 letters), then the second letter has a probability of 4/25 of being a vowel (1 vowel used), and so on (third letter being vowel = 3/24 and fourth letter being vowel = 2/23)

Then, for the digits, we do the same, one digits has 5/10 probability of being odd, then the second digit has 4/9, the third has 3/8 and the fourth has 2/7.

So the final probability would be:

P = \frac{5}{26} *\frac{4}{25}* \frac{3}{24}* \frac{2}{23} *\frac{5}{10}* \frac{4}{9} *\frac{3}{8} *\frac{2}{7}

To find the probability that the password spells the word “MATH", each letter has to be a specific letter, so the first letter has 1/26 probability, the second has 1/25, and so on:

P = \frac{1}{26} *\frac{1}{25}* \frac{1}{24}* \frac{1}{23}
