How many grams of CaC2 would make 23.6g C2H2 ?

Chemistry

CaC2 + 2 H2O = C2H2 + Ca(OH)2

moles CaC2 = 485 g/64.1 g/mol=7.57

moles H2O = 2 x 7.57 =15.1

mass H2O = 15.1 mol x 18.02 g/mol=272.8 g

moles C2H2 = 23.6 /26.038 g/mol=0.906

moles CaC2 = 0.906

mass CaC2 = 0.906 x 64.1 =58.1 g

moles Ca(OH)2 = 55.3 / 74.092 =0.760

moles H2O = 2 x 0.760 =1.52

mass water = 18.02 x 1.52 =27.4 g

How many km are in 5.6mm? 5.6x103 5.6x10-6 5.6x10-3 5.6x106
il63 [147K]

Hey there :)

<em>Q</em><em>u</em><em>e</em><em>s</em><em>t</em><em>i</em><em>o</em><em>n</em><em>:</em><em> </em><em>How many km are in 5.6mm? </em>

<em>=</em><em>></em><em>5.6x10</em><em>^</em><em>3 </em>

<em>=</em><em>></em><em>5.6x10</em><em>^</em><em>-6 </em>

<em>=</em><em>></em><em>5.6x10</em><em>^</em><em>-3 </em>

<em>=</em><em>></em><em> </em><em>5.6x10</em><em>^</em><em>6</em>

<em>A</em><em>n</em><em>s</em><em>w</em><em>e</em><em>r</em><em>:</em><em>-</em>

5.6 \times 10^{ - 6}

<em>E</em><em>x</em><em>p</em><em>l</em><em>a</em><em>n</em><em>a</em><em>t</em><em>i</em><em>o</em><em>n</em><em>:</em><em>-</em>

By using the formula-

1millimeter =  \frac{1}{1000000}

As 1 with 6 zeros, we convert it into exponential form.

=  >  \frac{1}{10^{6} }

As this above value is fraction type, we can do the reciprocal, thus, the exponent gets a negative value.

=  > 10^{ - 6}

Now combine with given question.

=  > 5.6 \times 10^{ - 6}

You find a clean 100-ml beaker, label it "#1", and place it on a tared electronic balance. You add small amount of unknown solid
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]

Answer:

the mas is .291 g

Explanation:

the mass of a object does not change. so when added the substance the beaker. you had the mass of both objects together. you know the mass of the beaker and you know the mass of both. since mass does not change. the beakers mass is still 74.605g. the mass of both objects is 74.896. all you have to do is subtract the mass of the beaker from the total mass. 74.896 - 74.605 equals .291g. so the mass of the unknown substance Is .291g

Use tabulated standard electrode potentials to calculate the standard cell potential for the following reaction occurring in an
SVETLANKA909090 [29]

Answer : The standard cell potential of the reaction is, -1.46 V

Explanation :

The given balanced cell reaction is,

3Pb^{2+}(aq)+2Cr(s)\rightarrow 2Cr^{3+}(aq)+3Pb(s)

Here, chromium (Cr) undergoes oxidation by loss of electrons and act as an anode. Lead (Pb) undergoes reduction by gain of electrons and thus act as cathode.

The standard values of cell potentials are:

Standard reduction potential of lead E^0_{[Pb^{2+}/Pb]}=-0.13V

Standard reduction potential of chromium E^0_{[Cr^{3+}/Cr]}=1.33V

Now we have to calculate the standard cell potential for the following reaction.

E^0=E^0_{cathode}-E^0_{anode}

E^0=E^0_{[Pb^{2+}/Pb]}-E^0_{[Cr^{3+}/Cr]}

E^0=(-0.13V)-1.33V=-1.46V

Therefore, the standard cell potential of the reaction is, -1.46 V
