5 0

Answer:

1.) 7th degree trinomial

2.) 5th degree binomial

Step-by-step explanation:

The degree of a term of a polynomial is the sum of the exponents of all the variables of that term. The degree of a polynomial is the same as the term with highest degree. Remember that a plain variable has degree 1. FOr example, 5x is a term of first degree because x is the same as x^1, so its degree is 1.

1.) m^5n^2 +mn^2 + n^6

Look at each term:

m^5n^2: degree = 5 + 2 = 7

mn^2: degree = 1 + 2 = 3

n^6: degree = 6

The highest degree of any term is 7, so the degree of the polynomial is 7.

The polynomial has 3 terms, so it's a trinomial.

Answer: 7th degree trinomial

2.) 12a^3b + 9a^2bc^2

Look at each term:

12a^3b: degree = 3 + 1 = 4

9a^2bc^2: degree = 2 + 1 + 2 = 5

The highest degree of any term is 5,so this is a 5th degree polynomial.

The polynomial has two terms, so it's a binomial.

Answer: 5th degree binomial

Find M
A. 17
B. 16
C. 18
D. 20
mixas84 [53]

Answer:

A. 17

Step-by-step explanation:

using the cosine rule (also see attached for reference):

AB² = BC² + AC² - 2·AC·BC cos C

2·AC·BC cos C = BC² + AC² - AB²

Given that AC = 18, AB = 12 and BC = 18, substituting these into the formula

2(18)(28) cos C = 28² + 18² - 12²

1008 cos C = 964

cos C = 964/1008

cos C = 0.9563

C = cos⁻¹ 0.9563

C = 16.99 ( = 17° rounded to nearest degree)
