Calculate the number of miles of magnesium, chlorine, and oxygen atoms in 5.00 moles of magnesium perchlorate
Zigmanuir [339]

Answer:

5.00 mol Mg

10.0 mol Cl

40.0 mol O

Explanation:

Step 1: Given data

Moles of Mg(ClO₄)₂: 5.00 mol

Step 2: Calculate the number of moles of Mg

The molar ratio of Mg(ClO₄)₂ to Mg is 1:1.

5.00 mol Mg(ClO₄)₂ × 1 mol Mg/1 mol Mg(ClO₄)₂ = 5.00 mol Mg

Step 3: Calculate the number of moles of Cl

The molar ratio of Mg(ClO₄)₂ to Cl is 1:2.

5.00 mol Mg(ClO₄)₂ × 2 mol Cl/1 mol Mg(ClO₄)₂ = 10.0 mol Cl

Step 4: Calculate the number of moles of O

The molar ratio of Mg(ClO₄)₂ to Cl is 1:8.

5.00 mol Mg(ClO₄)₂ × 8 mol O/1 mol Mg(ClO₄)₂ = 40.0 mol O

What must be true about two objects if heat is flowing between them?
Degger [83]

The objects may exchange heat between each other if they are in contact with each other.

The two objects will allow flow of heat between them if they have a difference in temperature from each other.

The heat will flow from higher temperature object to lower temperature object. The will reach a final temperature (common to each other) and then there will be no heat transfer between each other.

An ice cube and a scoop of table salt are left outside on a warm sunny day. explain why the ice cube melts and the salt does not
Anna11 [10]

The melting point of ice is 0 degrees Celcius, which means it exists as a liquid for any temperatures above 0 degrees. The melting point of salt is approximately 800 degrees Celcius, which is way greater than the melting point of ice. This means that for temperatures below 800 degrees, salt exists as a solid.

The temperature of the area where they were placed we can assume was somewhere between 0 and 800 degrees, greater than the melting point of ice but less than the melting point of salt. This why the ice melted but the salt did not.

I hope this helps!
