Well-adjusted barometer can help you predict changing weather day to day because it detects minute changes in the air pressure.

Atmospheric pressure is an indicator of weather. Changes in the atmosphere, including changes in air pressure, affect the weather. Meterologists use barometers to predict short-term changes in weather. Barometers have to be adjusted for changes in altitude in order to make accurate atmospheric pressure readings.

What is the common property of competitive and non competitive enzyme inhibitors
olasank [31]

Competitive inhibition can be overcome by increasing the concentration of substrate while uncompetitive and noncompetitive inhibition cannot. Enzyme inhibitors are molecules or compounds that bind to enzymes and result in a decrease in their activity.

calculate the mass defect for oxygen-16 given this data: mass of an oxygen-16 atom: 15.994914 amu mass of a proton: 1.00728 amu
o-na [289]
The answer is 0.132606 amu.

The mass defect (Δm) is the total mass of protons and neutrons minus the mass of the atom.
mass of an oxygen-16 atom: 15.994914 amu
mass of a proton: 1.00728 amu
mass of a neutron: 1.00866 amu

An oxygen atom has 8 protons and 8 neutrons. Therefore:
Δm = 8 · 1.00728 + 8 · 1.00866 - 15.994914 = 8.05824 + 8.06928 - 15.994914 = 0.132606 amu

What hormones does the anterior pituitary create
laila [671]

Answer:

They produce the:

• Tropic hormones (Thyroid stimulating hormone, Adrenocorticotropic hormone ACTH, Luteinizing hormone LH and Follicle-stimulating hormone FSH).

• The growth hormone and

• Prolactin.

Explanation:

The pituitary gland, found just below the hypothalamus consists of an anterior and posterior part, which release hormones which are either proteins or polypeptides

The secretion of these hormones are stimulated by chemicals produced by the hypothalamus and transported to the pituitary in the bloodstream.

The anterior pituitary glands hormones consists of several tropic hormones that regulates the activities of the other endocrine glands(through homeostatic mechanisms); also the growth hormone and prolactin.

This type of cell is found in the blood and engulfs pathogens.
Mariana [72]

Answer: The correct answer is macrophages

Explanation:

Macrophages are examples of phagocytes, and they engulfs pathogens (disease-causing organisms such as viruses, bacteria) by pulling them into their vacuoles and digesting them completely.

Macrophages, and Other like T-cells, B lymphocytes and natural killer cells all help in the BODY DEFENCE. But unlike macrophage, others exert their function through a different mechanism.
