As you may know, people’s physical and emotional health interact: One can affect the other. The characters in "In Another Countr
Margaret [11]

Answer:

To preserve their mental health, the characters must keep in mind that all suffering is temporary and although it is difficult, they will overcome this situation. What can help characters deal with their situations is by reasoning about the following questions:

"What led me to this situation?"

"What are my limitations in dealing with this type of problem?"

"How could I have acted to minimize the impacts of suffering?"

"Would any action by me prevent these disorders?"

Explanation:

Every time that the characters evaluate themselves and correct their behaviors, they will be able to follow the emotional evolution that will help them to deal with all their suffering. In this journey, each one has a different rhythm. In fact, we are different in almost every aspect of our physical and mental makeup. The variations in intelligence are enormous and also those related to aggressiveness, intensity of fears and the ability to deal with them. It would not be fair, therefore, to tell a character (or a person) that he is suffering from "nonsense". What is small for one may be large for the other. Underestimating the pain of others is not synonymous with help, but a lack of empathy.

We do have a duty and obligation, in the name of our own well-being, to try to get rid of our pains as quickly as possible, but that does not mean not feeling them. Some people do it more easily, while others "fall in love" with the problem and think about it in a recurrent and obsessive way. They silence the word, but the mind goes on chattering.

In humans, the quadriceps muscle is a skeletal leg muscle under voluntary control. As such, it contracts in response to signals
Masja [62]

Answer:

The correct answer is - operation of reflex arc.

Explanation:

The reflex arc is a unique and special type of neural pathway that starts with a sensory neuron and ends with a motor neuron. In this operation sensory neuron acts as the receptor and motor neuron is effector. This type of neural circuit helps in faster response.

Voluntary muscles like quadriceps muscle are normally in control voluntarily however, such muscle may contract involuntary due to reflex arc. This type of contraction takes place before the signal has even reached the brain.

In this response the sensory neuron takes the signal to the spinal cord and then motor neuron to the effector muscle for faster response.

Thus, the correct answer is - operation of reflex arc.

The decay of uranium isotopes is used to provide information about the age of Earth.

Explanation:

Isotopes of Uranium U-232, U-233 , U-234 , U-235 , U-236 , U-238 are used as fuel in nuclear reactors or as explosives for nuclear weapons. Uranium 238 is not very radioactive and it constitutes for nearly 99.3% of natural uranium on Earth and has the longest lifetime: its period is 4.5 billion years, about the age of Earth.

Use of radiometric dating techniques help in defining the age of substances (natural or man-made) using the known decay rates of radioactive elements. Each element has an individual decay rate and half life time.

Two Uranium isotopes (U-238 and U-235) are used for radiometric dating. Both the isotopes have different decay rates and half life period. Both are unstable and radioactive. Since two different isotopes produce two different decay clocks (one as a reference to other), it is beneficial in accurately determining the age of samples. The age of earth (rocks or other natural elements) can be easily determined using Uranium isotopes.
