Physics

The statement about fossil fuels is false is <u>C. They are dependent on location</u>, and the rest are relatively true

Further explanation

fossil fuels or mineral fuels are natural resources that contain hydrocarbons such as coal, petroleum, and natural gas. Fossil fuels are formed because of the natural process of decay from organisms that died hundreds of millions of years ago. Dinosaurs, trees, and almost all living things that died were deposited on the ground and now have become petroleum, natural gas, or coal. Natural gas has the form of gas, liquid petroleum, and solid coal. due to differences in the pressure and heat, they receive in the bowels of the earth over millions of years ago. Fossil fuels are a type of non-renewable natural resources. Because this fossil fuel is formed from the process of sedimentation and decomposition of living things and takes millions of years. That is why, the utilization of this fuel must be done wisely and responsibly, besides that the sources of fossil fuels that are available are faster used up compared to the formation of new ones.

There are 3 types of fossil fuels and all three have different shapes, which are

  • Natural gas has the form of gas.

natural gas is a fossil fuel in the form of gas. Natural gas is a mixture of hydrocarbons that has large expandability, high compressive strength, low specific gravity and naturally exists in the form of gas. Natural gas is collected underground with a variety of compositions contained in the oil content (associated gas).

  • Coal has a solid form.

Coal is a sedimentary rock that can burn. Formed from organic sediment and through the process of a forge. The main elements of coal are carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. Coal is used as a raw material for making cement, steel, aluminum, and also as an energy source for power plants in several countries. In addition, there are many more benefits from coal. However, the wrong process in processing coal can have a negative impact on the environment. That is why many countries provide rules regarding the use of this coal.

  • Petroleum has a liquid form

Petroleum is the most widely used resource, both personally and industrially. Petroleum, which is still in raw condition, will go through several stages of processing until finally it becomes a finished product and is ready for use. Some processed petroleum products that are often used in daily life are gasoline, kerosene, and so on.

A wire of resistance R is cut into ten equal parts which are then connected in parallel. The equivalent resistance of the combin
Greeley [361]

Answer:

<em>The equivalent resistance of the combination is R/100</em>

Explanation:

<u>Electric Resistance</u>

The electric resistance of a wire is directly proportional to its length. If a wire of resistance R is cut into 10 equal parts, then each part has a resistance of R/10.

Parallel connection of resistances: If R1, R2, R3,...., Rn are connected in parallel, the equivalent resistance is calculated as follows:

\displaystyle \frac{1}{R_e}=\frac{1}{R_1}+\frac{1}{R_2}+\frac{1}{R_3}+...+\frac{1}{R_n}

If we have 10 wires of resistance R/10 each and connect them in parallel, the equivalent resistance is:

\displaystyle \frac{1}{R_e}=\frac{1}{R/10}+\frac{1}{R/10}+\frac{1}{R/10}...+\frac{1}{R/10}

This sum is repeated 10 times. Operating each term:

\displaystyle \frac{1}{R_e}=\frac{10}{R}+\frac{10}{R}+\frac{10}{R}+...+\frac{10}{R}

All the terms have the same denominator, thus:

\displaystyle \frac{1}{R_e}=10\frac{10}{R}=\frac{100}{R}

Taking the reciprocals:

R_e=R/100

The equivalent resistance of the combination is R/100

During a baseball game, a batter hits a popup to a fielder 84 m away. The acceleration of gravity is 9.8 m/s 2 . If the ball rem
Nezavi [6.7K]

The ball rises up to 30.625 m high.

<h3>What is gravity?</h3>

The force that pulls items toward the centre of a planet or other entity is called gravity. All of the planets are kept in orbit around the sun by gravity.

Given parameters:

Horizontal range of the ball; R = 84 m.

Time of flight of the ball: T = 5 s.

Acceleration due to gravity; g = 9.8 m/s².

We have to find, maximum height obtained by the ball; H = ?

In projectile motion, time of flight is; T = 2usinθ/g

Where, u = initial velocity of the ball and θ = angle of projection.

So, 2usinθ/g = 5

⇒ usinθ = 5g/2 = (5×9.8)/2m/s = 24.5 m/s.

Then maximum height obtained by the ball;

H = u²sin²θ/2g

= 24.5²/(2×9.8) = 30.625 m.

Hence,  maximum height obtained by the ball is 30.625 m.

A hunter stands on a frozen pond (frictionless) and fires a 4.20g bullet at 965m/s horizontally.The mass of hunter + gun is 72.5
Afina-wow [57]

Answer:

The the recoil velocity of the hunter is 0.056 m/s in opposite direction of the bullet.

Explanation:

Given;

mass of bullet, m₁ = 4.2 g = 0.0042 kg

mass of hunter + gun = 72.5 kg

velocity of the bullet, u = 965 m/s

Momentum of the bullet when it was fired;

P = mv

P = 0.0042 x 965

P = 4.053 kg.m/s

Determine the recoil velocity of the hunter.

Total momentum = sum of the individual momenta

Total momentum = momentum of the bullet + momentum of the hunter

Apply the principle of conservation of momentum, sum of the momentum is equal to zero.

P_{hunter} + P_{bullet} = 0\\\\P_{hunter}  = -P_{bullet}\\\\72.5v = -4.053\\\\v = \frac{-4.053}{72.5} \\\\v = - 0.056 \ m/s\\\\Thus, the \ recoil \ velocity \ of \ the \ hunter \ is \ 0.056 \ m/s, \ in \ opposite \ direction \ of \ the \ bullet.

Therefore, the the recoil velocity of the hunter is 0.056 m/s in opposite direction of the bullet.

Calculate the density of a rod of metal in g/cm3, with a mass of 9.58g, a diameter of 8 mm and a height of 3.5cm
Ganezh [65]

Answer:

5.448 g/cm³

Explanation:

Density: This is defined as the ratio of the mass of a body to its volume.

The unit of density is kg/m³ other sub units are g/cm³, mg/mm³.

From the question,

D = m/πr²h......................... Equation 1

Where D = density, m = mass, r = radius, h = height.

Given: m = 9.58 g, r = 8/2 mm = 4 mm = 0.4 cm, h = 3.5 cm

Substitute this values into equation 1

D = 9.58/(3.14×0.4²×3.5)

D = 5.448 g/cm³

Hence the density of the metal rod is 5.448 g/cm³
