You just have to combine like terms 4x+5x +12 -
1 = 9x+11 I am not sure if it is 12x or just 12 if it is 12x the answer is 21x-1

a cone has a radius of 1 foot and a height of 2 ft. how many clones of liquid would it take to fill a cylinder with a diameter o
babymother [125]
Short Answer: 1
Remark
You could do this by comparing volumes through a proportion and that is likely the quickest way to get an answer. But it is also difficult to understand so I will do this by comparing volumes.

Step one
Find the volume of the small cone
Givens
r = 1 foot
h = 2 feet
pi = 3.14

Formula
V = 1/3 pi r^2 h

Sub and solve
V = 1/3 3.14 1^2 * 2
V = 2.09333

Step Two
Find the volume of the Large Cone
Givens
r = d/2  =  2/2 = 1 foot
h = 2 feet.

We can stop right here. The cones are exactly the same volume.

What fraction of 1/2 is 1/3? Draw a tape diagram to represent and answer the question.Please help with this 6th grade math quest
TEA [102]

STEP-BY-STEP EXPLANATION:

Given information:

Let x be the number

Mathematically, the statement can be translated below as

\begin{gathered} x\text{ }\times\frac{1}{2}\text{ = }\frac{1}{3} \\ \frac{x}{2}\text{ = }\frac{1}{3} \\ \text{Cross multiply} \\ 3\times x\text{ = 2}\times1 \\ 3x\text{ = 2} \\ \text{Divide both sides by 3} \\ \frac{3x}{3}\text{ = }\frac{2}{3} \\ x\text{ = }\frac{2}{3} \end{gathered}

The next step is to represent it on a tape diagram

3x + 5 = 2x + 15 solve for x
klio [65]

3x +5 = 2x +15

Subtract 5 from both sides:

3x = 2x + 10

Subtract 2x from both sides:

X = 10

ladessa [460]
ABC is same as FDE
so AC = FE  = 5ft
angle B = 28 deg
angle C = 90 deg
so A = 180 - B - C = 62
