So set both equations equal to each other then solve out of x and plug it back into the x equation to find the angles so start with x+5=2x+10 then subtract x from 2x and you will have 1x then subtract 10 from 5 leaving you with negative 5 then x equals negative 5 and then plug it back into the equation so for example 2 times negative 5 equals negative 10 plus positive 10 equals 0 so therefore x equals 0

Use lagrange multipliers to find the shortest distance, d, from the point (4, 0, −5) to the plane x y z = 9.
zlopas [31]
One function you would be trying to minimize is
f(x, y, z) = d² = (x - 4)² + y² + (z + 5)²

Your values for x, y, z, and λ would be correct, but
d² = (20/3 - 4)² + (8/3)² + (-7/3 + 5)²
d² = (8/3)² + (8/3)² + (8/3)²
d² = 64/3
d = 8/sqrt(3) = 8sqrt(3)/3

Answer:

The correct answer is C) Reflection across the Y-axis.

Step-by-step explanation:

This is because only the x-coordinates changed. If these coordinates were reflected across both the x and y axis' the sign of both the x and y coordinates would have changed. When you reflect a point across the x axis, the y-coordinates change their sign. When you reflect a point across the y axis, the x-coordinates change their sign.

Hope this helps,
