The American Revolutionary War (1775–1783), also known as the American War of Independence,was a war between Great Britain and its Thirteen Colonies in North America which declared independence in July 1776 as the United States of America.

Revolution means: "A forcible overthrow of the government or social order, in favor of a new government"

Answer: Revolution means many things such as overthrowing the government or social order to make a new government like the Americans did in The Revolutionary war. They fought against Britain because they wanted to be free have their own government and make their own laws.
