Answer:

(a) The total energy of the object at any point in its motion is 0.0416 J

(b) The amplitude of the motion is 0.0167 m

(c) The maximum speed attained by the object during its motion is 0.577 m/s

Explanation:

Given;

mass of the toy, m = 0.25 kg

force constant of the spring, k = 300 N/m

displacement of the toy, x = 0.012 m

speed of the toy, v = 0.4 m/s

(a) The total energy of the object at any point in its motion

E = ¹/₂mv² + ¹/₂kx²

E = ¹/₂ (0.25)(0.4)² + ¹/₂ (300)(0.012)²

E = 0.0416 J

(b) the amplitude of the motion

E = ¹/₂KA²

A = \sqrt{\frac{2E}{K} } \\\\A = \sqrt{\frac{2*0.0416}{300} } \\\\A = 0.0167 \ m

(c) the maximum speed attained by the object during its motion

E = \frac{1}{2} mv_{max}^2\\\\v_{max} = \sqrt{\frac{2E}{m} } \\\\v_{max} = \sqrt{\frac{2*0.0416}{0.25} } \\\\v_{max} = 0.577 \ m/s

A car is moving at 12m/s and has a mass aof 600kg. what is the kinetic energy of the car?
earnstyle [38]
KE=(1/2)mv^2
KE=(1/2)(600 kg) (12 m/s) ^2
KE=(1/2)(600 kg) )144 m^2/s^2)
KE= 43,200 kg*m^2/s^2=43,200 Joules

According to Newton’s Third Law of Motion, how are action and reaction forces related. Provide a full explanation with an exampl
hammer [34]
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. For example, take a cup on a table. The weight of the cup is the action, and the reason the cup does not sink through the table is because the table exerts an equal reaction force which is opposite to the action of the cup.

Hope this helps!

ball a has half the mass and eight times the kinetic energy of ball b. what is the speed ratio vava / vbvb ?
d1i1m1o1n [39]

Ball b has eight times more kinetic energy than ball a, which has half its mass. The speed ratio is 4.

<h3>What exactly does kinetic energy mean?</h3>

Force must be applied to object in order to accelerate. To apply a force, we must work hard. Because energy has been transferred to the object, it will be moving at a new, constant speed once the operation is finished.

Given,

Two balls a and b

and the mass of ball an is half that of ball b..

Kinetic energy of ball a is eight times kinetic energy of ball b.

mₐ = \frac{1}{2} m_{b}

KEₐ = 8 KE_{b}

Kinetic energy is measured by,

KE = 1/2 mv²

KE ratios for both balls a and b are calculated,

∴ \frac{KE_{a} }{KE_{b} } = \frac{1/2 m_{a} v_{a}^{2}  }{1/2 m_{b} v_{b} ^{2} }

\frac{8 KE_{b}}{KE_{b} } = \frac{1/2 (1/2m_{b}) v_{a}^{2}  }{1/2 m_{b} v_{b} ^{2} }

16 = \frac{v_{a} ^{2} }{v_{b} ^{2} }

\frac{v_{a} }{v_{b} } = 4/1
