What are the domain and range of the function f(x)=-3(x-5)squared+4

Domain is all real numbers
range
hmm
we know that x^2=a positive number
then multiply it by that negative -3
therefor the range is going to be mostly negative
if we make the x-5  equal to zero, then there is no negative, so
wher x=5, then f(5)=0+4=4
the highest positive number you can get is f(5)=4

so therfor

domain=all real number
range is x≤4

Find the midpoint of NP⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ given N(2a, 2b) and P(2a, 0).
geniusboy [140]

Answer:

(2a, b )

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the endpoints (x₁, y₁ ) and (x₂, y₂ ) then the midpoint is

[ \frac{1}{2}(x₁ + x₂ ), \frac{1}{2}(y₁ + y₂ ) ]

Here (x₁, y₁ ) = N(2a, 2b) and (x₂, y₂ ) = P(2a, 0), thus

midpoint = [ \frac{1}{2}(2a + 2a), \frac{1}{2}(2b + 0 ) ] = (2a, b )

A neighborhood child is selling lemonade and cookies in front of his house. He has up to 20 cookies available and enough lemonad
prohojiy [21]

Answer:

The child can sell 15 cookies and 30 lemonade glasses, or 10 cookies and 40 glasses of lemonade, etc

Step-by-step explanation:

If the child wants to make $30 and gets $1 per cookie and $0.50 per lemonade glass, he could sell 15 cookies and 30 glasses, 10 cookies and 40 glasses, etc. He has to sell at least 5 cookies, though, as the lemonade is only worth $25.

The mean annual cost of an automotive insurance policy is normally distributed with a mean of $1140 and standard deviation of $3
DerKrebs [107]

Using the normal distribution, it is found that the probabilities are given as follows:

a) 0.8871 = 88.71%.

b) 0.0778 = 7.78%.

c) 0.8485 = 84.85%.

<h3>Normal Probability Distribution</h3>

The z-score of a measure X of a normally distributed variable with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma is given by:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

  • The z-score measures how many standard deviations the measure is above or below the mean.
  • Looking at the z-score table, the p-value associated with this z-score is found, which is the percentile of X.
  • By the Central Limit Theorem, the sampling distribution of sample means of size n has standard deviation s = \frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}.

The parameters in this problem are given as follows:

\mu = 1140, \sigma = 310, n = 16, s = \frac{310}{\sqrt{16}} = 77.5

Item a:

The probability is the <u>p-value of Z when X = 1250 subtracted by the p-value of Z when X = 1000</u>, hence:

X = 1250:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

By the Central Limit Theorem

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{s}

Z = \frac{1250 - 1140}{77.5}

Z = 1.42

Z = 1.42 has a p-value of 0.9222.

X = 1000:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{s}

Z = \frac{1000 - 1140}{77.5}

Z = -1.81

Z = -1.81 has a p-value of 0.0351.

0.9222 - 0.0351 = 0.8871 = 88.71% probability.

Item b:

The probability is <u>one subtracted by the p-value of Z when X = 1250</u>, hence:

1 - 0.9222 = 0.0778 = 7.78%.

Item c:

The probability is the <u>p-value of Z when X = 1220</u>, hence:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{s}

Z = \frac{1220 - 1140}{77.5}

Z = 1.03

Z = 1.03 has a p-value of 0.8485.

0.8485 = 84.85% probability.

NEED HELP ASAP PLEASE
timurjin [86]

If the unknown value is x, then x = \frac{14}{4} × 6 = 21.

Explanation:

  • Since it is a double number line with a ratio, all the ratios of one number line to the other will remain equal for all the values along both the number lines. Assume the unknown value to be x.
  • The ratio of the number on the first number line to the corresponding number on the second number line is calculated to be;                                  \frac{7}{2} = \frac{14}{4} = \frac{x}{6} = \frac{28}{8} = \frac{35}{10} = 3.5. So \frac{x}{6} = 3.5, x = 3.5 × 6 = 21.
  • We can also calculate x by the following method. As ratios are equal we can directly substitute the value to another ration.                                                      So \frac{14}{4} = \frac{x}{6}, x = \frac{14}{4} × 6 = \frac{84}{4} = 21.
