That would be called fragmentation I believe
An earthquake is the result of a sudden release of stored energy in the earths crust that creates seismic waves.
Physical Weathering would be nature related like the wind or rain. Chemical Weathering would be anything caused by a chemical reaction like acids or acidic rain.
