The parabola is the name of the type of function curve judging by how it looks the curve opens downward to negative infinty.

The axis of symmetry is the point at which the parabola is equal on each side.
This point is at x=-1.

The vertex is the highest point of the parabola this is at the coordinates (-1,9)

The x intercepts are the places at which the parabola crosses the x axis
these points are at x = 2,-4

The y intercepts are the places at which the parabola crosses the y axis.
This points is at y = 8.

Find the inverse function for f(x)=sqrt2x-6 picture below
Olenka [21]

Answer:

y = (x^2 + 6) / 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Original function: \sqrt{2x - 6}

To find the inverse of a function we have to switch the x and y values and solve for y again

x = sqrt (2y-6)

To get rid of a square root we square the square root so:

x^2 = 2y-6

Add 6

x^2 + 6 = 2y

Divide by 2

y = (x^2 + 6) / 2

The graph of g(x) is obtained by reflecting the graph of f(x)=2|x| over the x-axis.
Lera25 [3.4K]
Answer: Choice C)
g(x) = -|2x|

You get this answer by simply sticking a negative out front of the original function. In other words, g(x) = -f(x) or more technically, g(x) = -1*f(x).

The negative will flip every y coordinate from positive to negative (or vice versa)

You'll also use the idea that |2x| = 2|x|. The two can be pulled out since we can say |x*y| = |x|*|y|
So |2*x| = |2|*|x| = 2|x|

9 3 -3/4 -10 1/2 -1.75 least to greatest
Mazyrski [523]

-10, -1.75, -3/4, 1/2, 3, 9

_____________________________

-3/4 converts to -0.75,

and 1/2 converts to 0.5. With -10 being farthest from zero on the number line, it would be the smallest. -1.75 would be the second smallest. Keeping in mind that -3/4 converts to -0.75, it would be the 3rd smallest. 1/2, or 0.5 would be greater, as it is the smallest POSITIVE number. Then you do 3, as it as a whole number, but still not the greatest. 9 would be the greatest.

hope i was helpful;-)
