Answer:

A. 8(2x-14)+13=4x-27 we will use the distributive property for the first step. now it becomes 112x=726x-112+13=4x-27. then that becomes 16x-99=4x-27. Last but not least, 12x=72.

B. x=6

8(2x-14)+13=4x-27
Use distribute property for the first one
16x-112+13=4x-27
16x-99=4x-27
12x=72
x=6. As a result, the value x is 6. Hope it help!

Workout the value of angle x.<br> Give reasons for your answer.
AfilCa [17]
If the triangle is an equilateral triangle the angles should be all 60 as (60+60+60=180) if that’s true then a congruent line from the triangle would form a 60 degree angle.
so x=60°

The equation 2(m-8)+3=17 has more than one solution method. Give at least two different "first steps" to solve this equation.
Troyanec [42]
1. you could distribute the 2 which would give you 2m - 16 + 3 = 17
2. You could add the 2 and 3 together and the problem would be 5(m - 8) = 17

Jean transformed a point by using the rule (x,y) (x-6, y+8). The image point is (–4, 1). Which point is the pre-image?
lubasha [3.4K]
For this case we have the following transformation:
 (x, y) (x-6, y + 8)&#10;
 Using the transformation we have that the image is:
 (-4, 1)&#10;
 Therefore, making use of this information, we can find the coordinates of the pre-image
 We have then:
 x-6 = -4&#10;
 From here, we clear x:
 x = -4 + 6&#10;&#10;x = 2
 On the other hand we have:
 y + 8 = 1&#10;
 From here, we clear y:
 y = 1-8&#10;&#10;y = -7
 The coordinates of the pre-image is:
 (x, y) = (2, -7)&#10;
 Answer:

A point that is the pre-image is:

(x, y) = (2, -7)
