Gases may have formed during the reaction, released into the air, thus lowering the mass after the reaction of the remaining products.

The difference is the mass of the gases that were formed during the reaction. If the cup is open, it is always the case that the gas would escape. Any reaction that forms a gas as a product is called a gas forming reaction.

Why do minerals with metallic bonds conduct electricity so well?
Roman55 [17]

Answer and Explanation:

Because metallic bonding involves delocalized electrons. It is described as a "<em>sea of electrons</em>", because the electrons are not confined around the nucleus of metal atoms, but they are delocalized: thay can be located in one nucleus and then in another neighbor atom. Thus, the electrons have more freedom to move from one part of the metal to another and electricity is well conducted.

What general rule can be followed when choosing a type of solvent for a particular solute
ehidna [41]
General 'rule' - "like dissolves like". The solubility of a solute in a solvent (that is, the extent of the mixing of the solute and solvent species) depends on a balance between the natural tendency for the solute and solvent species to mix and the tendency for a system to have the lowest energy possible.

Hope this helps :p

What was one main point of daltons atomic theory
bagirrra123 [75]

The main points of Dalton's atomic theory are: Everything is composed of atoms, which are the indivisible building blocks of matter and cannot be destroyed. All atoms of an element are identical. The atoms of different elements vary in size and mass.
