Alright so let's make Jan's age "J" and Trits' age "T"
Jan's age is 3 years less than twice trits age: 2T-3=J
The sum of their ages is 30: J+T=30
We can plug the first equation into the second:
2T-3+T=30
3T-3=30
3T=33
T=11 So Trits' age is 11, and we can plug 11 for T for either equation
2(11)-3=J
19=J
Jan is 19 and Trit is 11 :)

The height of a ball thrown vertically upward from a rooftop is modelled by h(t)= -4.8t^2 + 19.9t +55.3 where h (t) is the balls
nikitadnepr [17]

By applying the quadratic formula and discriminant of the quadratic formula, we find that the maximum height of the ball is equal to 75.926 meters.

How to determine the maximum height of the ball

Herein we have a quadratic equation that models the height of a ball in time and the maximum height represents the vertex of the parabola, hence we must use the quadratic formula for the following expression:

- 4.8 · t² + 19.9 · t + (55.3 - h) = 0

The height of the ball is a maximum when the discriminant is equal to zero:

19.9² - 4 · (- 4.8) · (55.3 - h) = 0

396.01 + 19.2 · (55.3 - h) = 0

19.2 · (55.3 - h) = -396.01

55.3 - h = -20.626

h = 55.3 + 20.626

h = 75.926 m

By applying the quadratic formula and discriminant of the quadratic formula, we find that the maximum height of the ball is equal to 75.926 meters.

What is the area of the triangle? (Pls help thx)
Anna [14]
To solve for the area of the triangle
Use the formula 1/2(base *height)
1/2 * 17* 4
68/2
34

I believe the area of the triangle is therefore 34ft

Solve 31-X + (2 x + 1)] = x - 1.
Kobotan [32]

Answer:

x = X + 33 (I am guessing "x" and "X" are not the same. "x" is a variable and "X" is a constant.)

Step-by-step explanation:

31 - X + (2x+1) = x - 1

or, 2x+1 = x - 1 - 31 + X

or, 2x - x = -1 -31 + X -1

or, x = -2 -31 + X

or, x = X - 33
