Answer:

h = 7.0 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given d=\sqrt{w^{2}+h^{2}  }, where d=13.3 and w=11.3

Sub in these values into the equation,

13.3=\sqrt{11.3^{2}+h^{2}  }

13.3=\sqrt{127.69+h^{2} }

Square both sides to get rid of the square root,

176.89=127.69+h^{2}

Collect like terms,

49.2 = h^{2}

Square root both sides to get h by itself,

h = 7.0 inches (1 d.p.)

Hope this helped!!

Which of the following equations has the given solution set? Solution set: Ø -2m + 5 = 2m + 5 -2m + 5 = -2m + 5 -2m + 5 = -2m -
Alex787 [66]
If I understand ur question, u r looking for a solution set with no solutions.
- 2m + 5 = - 2m - 5
-2m + 2m = -5 - 5
0 = -10 (incorrect...no solution)

u want the answer to be unequal with no variables. U do not want the answers to be equal, such as 0 = 0 or 10 = 10...because that would indicate infinite solutions. And u do not want the answer to contain a variable, because that would indicate 1 solution.

Given:

The two ways table.

To find:

The number of girls in year 9.

Solution:

Using the two ways table, we get

Boys in year 10 = Total student in year 10 - Girls in year 10

                        = 256 - 123

                        = 133

Boys in year 9 = Total boys - Boys in year 10 - Boys in year 11

                        = 407 - 133 - 125

                        = 149

Girls in year 9 = Total students in year 9 - Boys in year 9

                       = 303 - 149

                       = 154

Therefore, the number of girls in year 9 is 154 and the correct option is C.
