To make a bounce pass, a player throws a 0.60-kg basketball toward the floor. The ball hits the floor with a speed of 5.4 m/s at

an angle of 65° to the vertical. If the ball rebounds with the same speed and angle, what was the impulse delivered to it by the floor?

Answer:

2.74 N-s

Explanation:

m = mass of the basketball thrown towards the floor = 0.60 kg

v₀ = initial speed of the ball before hitting the floor = 5.4 m/s

θ = angle made by the direction of motion of the ball with the vertical before and after the collision = 65°

I = Impulse delivered to it by the floor

Impulse delivered to the ball by the floor is given as

I = 2 m v₀ Cosθ

Inserting the values

I = 2 (0.60) (5.4) Cos65

I = 2.74 N-s

The battery charger for an mp3 player contains a step-down transformer with a turns ratio of 1:29, so that the voltage of 120 v
kifflom [539]
Transformer contains two coils: primary and secondary. They allow change of voltage to lower or higher value. In first case we have step-down and in second case we have step-up transformer.

Formula used for transformer is:
\frac{ N_{1} }{N_{2} } = \frac{ V_{1} }{V_{2} }

Where:
N1 = number of turns on primary coil
N2 = number of turns on secondary coil
V1 = voltage on primary coil
V2 = voltage on secondary coil

In a step-down transformer primary coil has more turns than secondary coil. So the ratio 1:29 means that for each turn on secondary coil we have 29 turns on primary coil.

We can solve the equation for V2:
{V_{2}}=\frac{ V_{1}{N_{2} }  }{N_{1} } \\  {V_{2}}=\frac{ 120*{x }  }{29x } \\  {V_{2}}=4.14V

Secondary coil provides voltage of 4.14V.

7.Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system at nearly 11 times the size of Earth and 317 times its mass.

When we look at Jupiter, we're actually seeing the outermost layer of its clouds.

The Great Red Spot is a storm in Jupiter's southern hemisphere with crimson-colored clouds that spin counterclockwise at wind speeds

8. 58,232 km

The second largest planet in the solar system

Surface. As a gas giant, Saturn doesn't have a true surface. The planet is mostly swirling gases and liquids deeper down.

Saturn's rings are thought to be pieces of comets, asteroids or shattered moons that broke up before they reached the planet,

9. Unlike the other planets of the solar system, Uranus is tilted so far that it essentially orbits the sun on its side, with the axis of its spin nearly pointing at the star.

Uranus' atmosphere is mostly hydrogen and helium, with a small amount of methane and traces of water and ammonia.

As an ice giant, Uranus doesn't have a true surface. The planet is mostly swirling fluids. While a spacecraft would have nowhere to land on Uranus, it wouldn't be able to fly through its atmosphere unscathed either. The extreme pressures and temperatures would destroy a metal spacecraft.

10. 24,622 km

Neptune has an average temperature of -353 Fahrenheit (-214 Celsius).

Neptune's atmosphere is made up mostly of hydrogen and helium with just a little bit of methane.

At a certain elevation, the ________ , the air becomes saturated and water-vapor molecules ________.
andriy [413]

At certain altitude, the temperature of air decrease, The air becomes saturated and water vapour molecules starts condensing.

As the altitude of air increase, the atmospheric pressure decrease due to which the temperature of the air decrease. The water molecules in the atmosphere start condensing, which saturate the air (that is air can no hold water molecules), due to which the water vapour molecules starts condensing and falls on the earth in the form of rain.

\There was a truck pulling a horse trailer. If the horse trailer weighted 150kg, went 250 miles, and the trucked used 20N to mak
mestny [16]

Answer:

a  = 0.13m/s²

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Weight of horse trailer  = 150kg

Distance covered  = 250miles

Force applied on trailer  = 20N

Unknown:

Acceleration of trailer = ?

Solution:

According to newton's second law of motion,"the acceleration of a body is directly proportional to the force on it and inversely proportional to the mass" .

          Mathematically;

                                    F  = m x a

 where f is the force

             m is the mass

               a is the acceleration

Input the parameters and solve;

                  20  = 150 x a

                      a  = 0.13m/s²
